The Wai’anae Diet was a program organized by Dr. Terry Shintani out of Waiʻanae Coast Comp. Health Center based on his first book Eat More, Weigh Less and The Hawaiʻi Diet, a plant-based program in which he incorporated native Hawaiian foods.

Ano ai pehea oe? Hello there, I understand where Kanaka is coming from, Because everytime I get a kakau I feel stronger and more tied to our land. With that being said, hawaiian tatau was very much merit based. If you were a slave you got a certain tatau on your face so others would know, The Konane “Checker pattern” tatau was only reserved for warriors. The Konane represents out smarting your enemy in battle , so a fisherman or a farmer could never get one, unless maybe the warriors accepted you as there own, acceptions to the rule are never outside of the realm of possibility. Maui ELITE warriors tattooed half of their bodies to represent the Thunder God. If you are not from Maui, and in that elite warrior class, YOU COULD NOT GET THAT TATAU. I respect everything Kanaka is saying. But Hawaiian kakau, was very much merit/Status based! Hawaiians these days either just don’t know their own history? They simply don’t care? Or they’re to lazy or afraid to earn their kakau lol 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾 Just ask other polynesian cultures, “Samoan, Māori” they will 100% tell you that “YOU CANNOT” get a certain tatau, due to your lack of status lol Responsibilites come with Tatau. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾 A hui hoe.

Do the ninth island casinos "contribute" to our public servants to keep casinos out of Hawai'i? A nice casino could bring in not only visitor's gaming money, but the entertainment possibilities would be nice, too. A destination desired by tourists and entertainers might be considered an industry. Even just a legal Poker Room could be a good start. Plenty jobs. Possibly connected to Hawaiian Homestead funding and housing might be a bonus. Too many pros versus so few cons. IMO.

My dad was growing up in Maui during the time of the Hawaiian Renaissance in the 1970's-80's and I remember hin telling me about meeting Papa Mau abd the Hokule'a crew. It left a lifelong impression on his young mind and filled him with both awe and pride for his people and ancestors. Thank you so much for uploading this for all of us to see. So good to hear Mr. Galuteria, Aloha!

Iʻve been a fan of Pure Heart from way back when I saw Jake & Jon perform for students at UH before Lopaka joined them and they recorded any albums. Wish I had those pictures and was video recording music then. Just a note about the Kookaburra. I was a little surprised Lopaka didnʻt know it was an Australian bird, but Iʻm not surprised Kamaka didnʻt know the song that Jake mentioned. Itʻs a famous childrenʻs song -- I think I learned it at Summer Fun or in elementary school. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJfTdHqjoat9Z8k.

lol, everyone has a vote to a fraud government of slaves. ITS amazing to see how many old folks sold out to human trafficking their people with no accountability of truth. They want so bad to American to vote in no Hawaii corporate cabal pedofile elite deep state provisional government pedofiles and their Illuminati systems. USA public law 103.150. Kept voting uncle, voting is your way to keep commenting war crimes. Hawaiian homes, part of the fractional reserve lending central banking parasites and their pedophile fascism for profiting off humans. When the dollars abolished and you need something other that fiat currency how you going to act? You’ll be on the new world order plan and the Hawaiian Queendom will be protecting the keiki and rescuing them like we already are and you see these native Hawaiians that forgot they are. Part of the sellouts, they all take the $$$.

When my 50 year old gambling friend asked me for $500 because she did t have money to pay her electric bill I gave it to her. When she asked me again I really didn’t have the money. She cried right in front of me and I thought what if this was someone in mu family asking. Our ohana is too big to support their gambling habit. A couple came back from living in Vegas asking their parents to buy their ticket back. They both got addicted. Lots of stories we don’t hear. Please don’t destroy us.
