A lot of people have a cap of funds they can roll over to the next year like $600.. I can't imagine this would work for most people.
@TheMengineer5 күн бұрын
You're absolutely correct. You have to examine your own plan's funds, rules, and your own life circumstances to see if this could fit into your retirement plan. For instance, if you or a loved one has a chronic health condition, it likely isn't the best choice to get a high deductible health plan as this could cost you a lot of money in the long run. Highly recommend checking out the MadFientist's article on this if you would like to learn more!

Can you draw from a Roth IRA before 59 1/2? I know a traditional 401K you can't but not sure about Roth..
@TheMengineer5 күн бұрын
@BuddhaPepper Great question! You can withdraw your CONTRIBUTIONS from your Roth IRA prior to 59 1/2. However any growth must stay in the account until 59 1/2 if you don't want to be penalized. Obviously, there are exceptions and rules around this so it's always best to consult with a financial professional (which I am not) prior to making large decisions based on your retirement accounts.

I'm so lucky to be getting my federal employee pension at 62.. I didn't even know I was supposed to be saving at least 20% towards my 401K/investments for even regular retirement until last year.. at age 33 lol after the best decade for compound growth was already over (20s) 🙃

Btw it was so random that KZbin suggested such a small channel. Great video. I'm a viewer of Caleb Hammer and The Financial Diet so maybe KZbin will put your video in similar feeds..

It's never too late to start! There are plenty of people who didn't start saving until their 40s and 50s and were still able to make it work. I personally listen to a podcast called Bigger Pockets Money. They've had multiple guests tell their stories about starting later. I find them very inspiring!
@TheMengineer5 күн бұрын
Thank you for the support! I have seen Caleb Hammer too, he gives great information, albeit a tad dramatically haha. My channel is more focused on things I wish I knew when I was younger, not just personal finance!

Great video and awesome quality for such a small channel. Keep up the good work. And it is great that you are spreading the word. That retirement is a number but the number is not an age but rather a bank statement. :) Fire might not be easy but even if you don't reach all the way you would still be better off. And even if you don't want to stop working, that is okay. For me the FI in FIRE is the most important part. It gives such freedom. I'm not even halfway there but the fact that I can just say f-you to my employer if he treats me bad, without even thinking about it since my savings can cover my expenses for the next 8 years, is such a power. It makes it possible to take much more risk which means you have the potential to greatly increase your income :) Great work and hope to see your channel grow over the future ❤

@@TheMengineer yes I did, you should also do self development book recommendations as well. I was familiar with the “ chase the task over job title “ concept from the book “think big” by grace lordan. However, your video reminded me of the concept so thank you 🙏. It would also be good if you could do book summaries, that may be really helpful for people.

Great video! This is something I’ve dealt with a lot over the years, I’ll have to try these techniques to see if they work for me. For growing a beard, another thing I’d add in is to let your chin area grow a few millimeters longer than the rest of your jawline and cheeks. Barbers have recommended that to me over the years and it makes your beard look fuller!
