Francis was charming when he hadn't been drinking, but when he was drunk he could be obnoxious. I saw him and his boyfriend being kicked out of an art gallery private view because he was drunk and his young boyfriend was picking fights with everyone. Francis like rough trade. There is no doubt he was a master of modern painting.

At the Prado, three paintings stand out. The dog losing his meat (Aesop, and not Goya I think), but then Saturn eating his son, with huge mad eyes. And the execution scene.

In a perfect world, i would have met and had conversations with this incredible man. I recently saw a picture of the restored Anne of Cleves painting and it truly is impressive.

Filled with progressive optimism and then disillusioned by tragedy, ignorance, war, and despots. That's why I relate to de Goya's art. It's been a large influence on my own.

I wish art history and art analysis was practiced and taught like this in school as an elective for those who are interested. I have learned more about art from your channel and a couple others of similar quality and depth than I ever learned in my formal education. Thank you!

@@mrwilson.1 Ripley the series is in Netflix, black and white. Personally I prefer the movie 'The talented Mr Ripley' with Matt Damon as well in Netflix. One of my favourites movies.

If you get to go to Nuremberg, the old city, you will see a contemporary statue of a giant cast bronze Hare emerging from it's den and cruising all of it's children and all other smaller creatures in it's path. I believe it dates to the 1960's when students and artists alike were feeling pretty dammed repressed and overshadowed by the dominance of art created hundreds of years before they had their voice

Yeah, only SOME New Yorkers go to the Hamptons . Regular folks just live in the same squalor your corrupt taxation system has imprisoned them in. Also - show the whole painting. They have some compositional interest but there’s not a lot going on there

The Global Anus Organization is moving the ships of Nazism (Nano chip) inside us. To organize people. White Nazi, Black Nazi, fighting shoulder to shoulder against humanity. We are at war. (With the cooperation of some Jews and some Brahmins, humanity is being corrupted and killed. EXACTLY AUSCHWITZ, THE SAME.) The same forces carried out the Second World War. He had progressed using the Brahmin Catholic church. The same situation is happening now. The Papacy is making "warning" statements to get rid of this situation. Same scenario. Stalin is expected! (The military age of Multinational Humanity is beyond Stalin. This is necessary.)

The narrator bothers me. She is hard to watch talk because she moves her arms and head spontaneously and jaggedly. Her voice is not the prettiest. But, the information is great and the imagery is beautiful throughout this video!
