4. Annekin, Annekin. Recorded before the Harmonic Flutes were re-installed in the centre behind the bandmaster figure, it sounds a lot better with them on as they were there originally, the organ is owned by Cor Tegelaar in Delft.

Tracks 4, 9, 10 and 19 arranged by Arthur Prinsen. Tracks 5 and 7 I think are arrangements by Marcel Bartier; he made music for the organ in the mid 1950s and a few of his arrangements are still with the organ. All other arrangements are by Albert Decap, which he made for the organ when it was installed in the cafe Arend in Hoggerhide, Belgium.

I think it was originally a Waldkirk 87,so that would explain, its more strident tone.

Peter, I've heard that about the case as well. However, the new case was carefully measured from the old one. So it must have fitted! Like a lot of information back then maybe something put about to discredit the organ builder. A typical thing that happened. It is a lovely recording, Id forgotten how strident the organ is.

It is indeed very sad that this organ was stolen years ago. I sure hope one day it may be found but I highly doubt it would’ve been destroyed…

I was told that this is Noyces gavioli but on listening to another recording I have of it it is Pettigroves gavioli,an organ that hasn't seen the light of day for around 30yrs since it was rebuilt following an accident. The replacement organ case was made too long and so the organ never went back in to the ride.I got a lot of flack and threats off the ride manager when I posted a track of it so just keep a look out! It was a lovely organ when this was recorded, may have been a warm day judging by the cyphering, its recorded extremely well and clear. I've also been told that this was recorded without the owners permission, whether that's true or not I can't confirm but a recording ban was put on it after they'd found out!

I knew the organ when Mike and Chris Garner owned it, i have a cassette of it too but not this one, they actually made their own recordings, the organ was originally owned by Fred Cooper from Bristol who mainly used it for charity collections, he also once owned the 60 key Wellershaus that was later owned by the Nash Brothers, the decoration on the front lower board and sides of the van was done by my friend, Timmy Barker, showmen's decorator.

I recognise this organ I am pretty sure there's videos of it when it was in the UK. There's one somewhere where it was playing Aces High but the drums weren't working?

That's right - as you can probably tell from this recording, it didn't always sound the best when it was here in the UK. Thankfully it sounds much better now!

This is how people listened to portable music back in the day. Can you imagine being a soldier on the front line and having one of these? That was like being the only guy with a Sony Walkman in the 1981s.

What an interesting instrument! I wonder where it is today?

It's certainly had a very chequered history! Since this recording was made the instrument was hugely expanded, I think it's in Australia or New Zealand these days...

An organ i never did see!, first time i have heard it too, typical Mortier orchestrion, this was before Brian added loads of extra pipework and two further cases each end, by the time i started attending syeam rallies this organ no longer travelled, the second tune is one of Brian's own arrangements, he liked obscure classical music!, i never knew it had bourdons unless it's the jazz flutes played without the tremulant, other books here by Peersman and Prinsen.

The organ itself is something of an oddity as it has a number of registers not normally found on mortier organs including the Bourdon celeste & the Carillion only one other mortier organ has a Bourdon celeste namely the famous " De Kluisburg" of which Oscar is a close relative Oscar bears the serial number 1041 & De Kluisburg is 1023 one unusual feature of Oscar internally is that the Unda Maris on melody (23 notes) is for some strange reason is turned sideways & is positioned on each side of the main melody & being an odd number of notes one side (i am not sure which side) is larger by one note a most strange configuration as normally all the pipes all face foward was it originally built like this or was this done when it was modernised with the present facade ( which is from a 105 Gebr Decap hammond) Do other 101 key mortier organs including Kluisburg have the same sideways facing Unda Maris? Also the outer side cabinets also face sideways so they fit behind the facade which also occurs on the 101 key mortier organs " Madeline" & The Bandmaster which are also close relatives of "Oscar" Does anyone know more especially the logic behind the sideways facing Unda Maris?
