Curtis was such a joy. I wore this song out. Sal's solo made my earth move. So free and confident. Thank you for the upload.

True masters of this most challenging instrument. Add all of the other players mentioned, and about a dozen more (Pugh, Herwig, Martin, Gordon, Nash, Gilkes, et al). Frank set the bar.

Haven’t heard this march before. Anyone know the composer or when it was written?
@elkartianАй бұрын
Composer is Sousa
@rosconorthАй бұрын
Only written in piano format. Written in 1873 and was Sousa’s first published March, and it was sold out right to the publisher for 100 copies of sheet music. It was Opus 5. The piano version was arranged for band by gay Corrie from England.

Standards have certainly dropped dramatically since this was recorded 30 years ago.

Wouldn’t that be the fault of the old generation for not mentoring the new one? The young guardsmen and subalterns then are the senior warrant officers and generals of today
@flamingfrancisАй бұрын
Not so sure about that. Based on the evidence of YT postings of the band performing in the past 12 months it would appear a proctologist should be consulted for a cranial extraction.

I played trombone until I lost my chops during the pandemic, now learning drums which is a bit strange for someone who dislikes rock. This group speaks to my present and my past nicely.

The 1st tune is the theme tune for the film Battle of Britain. I admire you all for this tribute to those brave men that won the battle of Britain, it was definetly a battle of battles. I salute the brave men that flew these flying machines and makes me proud to be British . Well dne all . The music that came across the Atlantic was ace and followed by more brave men who fought with our lads

Well, the orchestra sounds like clockwork, a mechanical marionette. Did Schubert imagine it that way? In the end, it doesn't matter. Because Prey is Prey: genuine, honest, brilliant.
