I bought a DJI Action 5 and reeturned it within a few days as it kept overheating and the image looks very digital not as natural like the Action 4! Don't listen to what the fake KZbinrs are saying - this camera overall (thus far) is a failiure! This is a lens/hardware problem - no DJI firmware is going to fix any of this - return this for a full refund and get the Action 4 - it works flawlessly!

Would you be able to share how you were able to consistently reproduce the overheating? What settings were you using while recording? Stabilization enabled?
@DungarooTV3 күн бұрын
@@bluetysproductions Hi again, I was shoooting at 4K 30 fps. Rocksteady+ enabled at double framerate for motion blur. Any recordings over 10 minutes caused overheating and that 'focus hunting' issue you are having is a known problem in the Action 5 - it is caused when you are focusing on any fast-moving objects suddenly from something that is less active, e.g. you're focusing on your child sitting still then he/she runs away - if you run after your child while filming and then, say, there's a dog that enters the frame, the Action 5 somehow will get confused and the tracking will go crazy. All this coupled with the poor camera image that looks like a poor man's iPhone, I suggest you return it for a full refund and get a Action 4 which is so much better and reliable which was what ended up getting. The Action 4 is work horse and will start every time and will do what it needs to without these issues and produces much nicer and naturally-looking footage. Good luck.

DJI Support's response that led to my additional re-test footage starting at 03:49 - "As for your issue, it is recommended to adjust the exposure settings to Auto mode and set the white balance to AWB to test if there is any improvement. If there is no strong need for post-production color grading (secondary adjustment), you can try to use standard 10-bit to check if is available for you."

Thanks for making this video. Was starting to wonder if I was going loopy with this. I’m experiencing the same kinds and clicks and pops. Rode say it’s an iOS issue they are aware of. In your experience however it seems like getting a new unit has solved things? Would be curious to know if it’s that simple.
@bluetysproductions2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and patience in my response! Unfortunately, the replacement unit started doing the same thing. I eventually purchased the Rode Wireless Pro, but admittedly, haven’t used it as much as I have the Rode Wireless Go II.
@AndriSoren2 ай бұрын
@@bluetysproductions Oh no worries - what I can say is that I have the Rode Wireless Pro and it has the same problem. Rode say it's an iOS issue (that also affects units by other manufacturers) that has gone unresolved by Apple and don't seem to have any idea / control over when that will be, and that a replacement unit most likely won't solve anything. That means alas that it's not fit for purpose as yet (certainly not for me), which is a shame, and kind of crazy that it has this issue, frankly, as it simply ruins the phone-recording functionality. I'd be curious all the same to know if your pro unit also has the same problem, as a final "double check" but no rush!

@AndriSoren thanks so much for such a thoughtful reply. Just saw your comment, and I was just thinking that it's time I start playing again with the Rode Wireless Pro. One quick question, please. For your tests, did you use the windmuff / deadcat on the transmitters to reproduce the clicking issue?
@AndriSoren16 күн бұрын
@ hi there! I never used the wind muffs on these units. In fact Im pretty sure I always used the 3.5mm input rather than the built in mics.
@bluetysproductions3 күн бұрын
Very good! I’ll see if I can squeeze in some quick tests. I do remember using both the 3.5mm jack and USB to Lightning cable (Rode’s) and reproduced the issue with the iPhone (with Rode Wireless Go II). I can’t recall if I heard it when recording with my GoPro Hero 9 (with Rode Wireless Go II).

@Axel Avila - great observation! Actually, the creators of the movements named them as if they were based on Kung Fu. Bassai has elements of alternating hand blocks and also double hand punch, but the Okinawan kata was highly influenced by Chinese styles. From its murky history, it’s not surprising that a Kung Fu-based movement would look like Okinawan / Japanese kata. Appreciate the review. Been considering the VO-7U but all reviews praise it and have been looking for a more critical POV. Seems like the Deity isn’t as plug and play as I would have hoped. Do you have any dynamic mics that you would recommend?
@bluetysproductions2 жыл бұрын
@Jay thanks very much! I was thinking of the same thing - that there’s a lot of good reviews out there, but I couldn’t correlate the trouble I had just trying to even make this review video… I follow a lot of audiophiles on KZbin like Podcastage and Curtis Judd. The top 2 of economical dynamic XLR mics that I’m considering are sE Dynacaster and Audio Technica AT4033a. While I think the Shure SM7B may be most compatible with my voice, I’m not ready to spend on it 😬
@bluetysproductions2 жыл бұрын
@Jay I just realized that the AT4033a is the same price as the SM7B…ugh….🤦🏻♀️ So I’m back to just the Dynacaster. You may consider checking out Rode NT1 or Rode NT1-A. Personally, the high frequencies are just a bit too much for me, but I imagine with a little EQ it could be tamed. I would like a more “plug and play” dynamic mic where if I’m feeling too lazy, I can let it go without EQ.
@Jay-gx1nh2 жыл бұрын
@@bluetysproductions thanks for the reply. Have you considered the mv7? I’m starting to lean there after watching so many videos
@bluetysproductions2 жыл бұрын
I have. I had to go back to Podcastage channel to remember why I ruled it out some time ago. For me, it’s still a bit brighter than most dynamic mics, but still captures more low end than Rode Podmic. The plosives and boom arm / table noise rejections aren’t great. It’s a micro-USB port for the USB connection, which is pretty outdated. I think this was the non-negotiable I had given that most devices are switching to USB-C. The form factor of the mic. That exposed XLR port just doesn’t look nice if unused. And because it’s a dynamic mic, it needs to be in the frame of the shot. Here’s the link to Podcastage’s review, if it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp23Yax4hNabjLs
