I know this thread is pretty old but I thought I'd ask anyway. 1) Will the pump shut off when the main tank is full? 2) If the pump doesn't shut off when the main tank is full, do you have something to prevent fuel from coming out of the main tank's vent line (like a return line to the auxiliary tank)? I like this setup but I know me and I'm so easily distracted that I can see me forgetting to turn the pump off once the main tank is full or near full.

do you think it pumps too much to put it through the vent hose? Thats how my current set up is, but the pump is painfully slow. Looking to put a pump with more GPH on it.

Nice setup, did you run your fuel line off of a "drain plug" on the tank or did you use a pickup tube?

Would you happen to remember the model # of the Holley fuel pump. Just trying to make sure I get the same one

Nice job, getting ready to do a similar set up on my powerstroke.

Can you do this for gasoline thanks
@PFab3 жыл бұрын
Yes. You don't need the water separator. Just pump and fuel filter.

Make sure and do your research on using gasoline, it’s in a completely different class than diesel. There are a lot more rules and safety features that come into place with flammable liquids. They do make special auxiliary tanks that are rated for gasoline that meet D.O.T. Code.

Great video. Can you share the links for everything that you used? Can’t seem to find it?

Are the fuel pump and normally closed solenoid both wired to the same relay? So when the fuel pump is switched on, the solenoid opens?

I really don't understand the job of the solenoid. Can anyone explain?
@bradoliver39163 жыл бұрын
@@PFab It keeps the line closed when turned off

@@bradoliver3916 Couldn't you just install a check valve? I mean it sounds like a lot of work. Unless you have a diesel it should matter.

The solenoid is a 12v on /off switch so when it’s turned off it stops all fuel flow from the auxiliary tank to the main tank. When the the switch is turned on it activates the pump and opens the valve to allow fuel flow. It’s really a nice set up and keeps the auxiliary from over flowing the stock tank. It’s really convenient way to fill the tank on the go.
