Listening to Bill Ward talk about his depression and how it drove him to a point where he couldn’t engage with anything musical, even tapping beats….fuck, I feel that. Reached a similar point with music and depression a couple years ago, this thing that was wound into my DNA and my therapy for life, and my depression just taking over to that point that you reject it and revile it, unable to pick up an instrument or listen to a song or even mime along some air guitar or drums because it hurts…heavy stuff. Glad he bounced back.

Kinda odd how appalled some of them are about making money but just all look sad as fuck at having financial issues and it looks like it's weighing them down. It's ok to try and make enough to stay above water. At the very least the fans owe you that for keeping their heads bouncing and from doing something a lot worse. They do claim to be the "real" music fans. I'd rather pay 20-30 and know the bands are taken care of. Especially if it's an all day affair.

I really liked the documentary although definitely not my style of music. As a guitar player, I like a lot of the riffs and grooves, but I don’t like the screaming and growling. To each his own. 🙏🏻

Damn. I watched the whole thing. The genre of Doom they chose just wasn’t for me. I’m sure many loved it- cheers to them. It focused waaaaaaaaay too much on Stoner Doom. Then Sludge/Art type stuff. The musicians seemed REALLY interested in trying to do something new or “relevant”. Again- nothing wrong with that. Just not my thing. I just like music for music’s sake. Cathedral, My Dying Bride, Pelican, even Sun O))) works for me when it comes to Doom. I’m don’t get high at all (not against it)- so no matter how heavy and slow and awesome a “riff” is I don’t want to hear it 20 times😅. For me it’s not really about experiencing something. I just love music. Aside from the earlier bands I mentioned I also like Gojira, Opeth, Obituary, and of course: Sabbath. Well done Documentary though. I was just disappointed about the type of Doom it focused on. I realize not ALL the bands I mentioned are Doom Metal. However, I generally dislike fast metal and love slow metal.

I'd be more into this if they didn't promote drug use and before y'all start with that "its just a plant" bullshit. Just know I spent one decade smoking weed and the next decade shooting heroin so im probably more qualified to speak on this subject then a lot of you. Its just a plant talk is pure cope for being a addict. Yes I said addict, spending 1/3 of your check and smoking it every day because it calms you is an addiction. Don't believe me? Go a week without it. Edit. I keep wondering why they would promote drug use so much and then ai remember seeing the words Stein or Burg at the beginning of the documentary and it all makes sense.
