Omg!!!! The nostalgia! Isn't it strange how you could not have heard on seen something in what feels like a lifetime ago but as soon as you hear it, you remember it word for word! Omg! I was only in high school but this show's intro was LITERALLY my alarm clock for at least those 4 years of my life! I LOVED them! I mean what teenager watches the news in the morning? That's just how fantastic, earthy and funny they were! It wasn't like watching the news. It was like watching SNL or something. Lol

Yeah I remember every last one of them. But Mr Brandmier was one I didn't listen to.

Steve was quite popular back in the day. He did some wild stuff, like making prank calls to the embassy in Iran when the hostages were being held. Steve pushed the envelope but when he made 'Kid in the Crawl' he crossed a line. You don't make a joke out of murdered kids, especially when the families still live in the area. Steve also made a mistake when he made a radio stunt out of Marcus Palmer, a black dude Steve had hang around just to make fun of. Marcus went in for an operation on his adnoids, Steve did kind of a play by play. He called the hospital to see how it went and they told him Marcus had died on the table. No joke, this happened. Steve also had John Belushi on when they were filming 'The Blues Brothers'. Steve begged John to put him in the movie. John was annoyed with Steve, and finally told him " You guys are assholes, I don't like you!" and walked out of the interview. Steve was crushed. Finally he said "I guess when you're a big star you get tired of being nice all the time"

This is so interesting. I watched Sesame Street and Electric Company as a little kid in the early 70s and picked up literacy. I was reading pencil-writing at 3 years old and amazed my nursery school teachers. I guess the "glass window" refers to the first TV set, which I know had a tiny screen.

I though Steve Dahl was the greatest at that time. Then I turned 19. But he was great fun for a kid then. He did provide a good service. The eventual destruction of disco. I listened to him because I hated disco. Looking back on it, disco indeed sucked.

The ads are from the mid-1950s, but the WBKB "Circle 7" station ID motif is likely from 1962-65.
@KeithE43 жыл бұрын
ABC started using the Circle 7 logo on all of its owned stations in 1962. From what I've read, its inspiration came from the phone number of ABC's main offices in New York, CIrcle 7-xxxx (whatever the last 4 were).
