Back in the 80s, I used to take my ski boat out into the Mississippi River between McKellar Lake and Mud Island. We would watch concerts at night and then run full speed back to the boat ramp. It wasn't until we were out in the day time that we saw entire trees floating down the river. Man the 80s was a crazy time.

Great vid, always enjoy your content! If you don't mind my asking, I'm curious what finesse types of baits you would recommend to throw on a spinning reel when you're in a group of smallmouth like you were here. For me, I always start with something like a topwater or swim jig, but I don't often grab my spinning reel to throw back in there with something more subtle that could take a few more. So yeah, just wondering on that what I could add to my arsenal.
@grindseasonoutdoors3 ай бұрын
@@greglovell2166 I was throwing a white fluke on a drop shot and just dragging it along the bottom. Usually between that and a Carolina rig, they will bite one of them!
@greglovell21663 ай бұрын
@@grindseasonoutdoors nice, thanks! Btw, what size weight do you use on the drop shot in that situation?
@grindseasonoutdoors3 ай бұрын
@@greglovell2166 I’m only throwing a 3/16 because I’m fishing a few feet of water and not a ton of current. But I’ll go heavier when getting deeper or stronger current. You honestly don’t have to worry about going too heavy though. I just feel like you don’t have to move the bait as much when you throw the lightest weight you can get away with. You let the current make your bait work for you.
