For Andy. When you talked about the last drill and putting a pressure gauge on the hydrant with a 4-way valve and doing a long forward lay to show the amount of friction loss in the hose and the remaining pressure on the hydrant, can you walk me through the gauge you used and the specific setup? As a retired firefighter/engineer this thing seems like a nice concept, but quirky as all get out. Perhaps 10 years from now it will be a viable option. 🥴

The implementation seems to be really quirky, but as for all wheels steering you can easily get a commercial chassis truck, that can do that, and I bet, for a fraction of the price. With most teething problems ironed out by millions kilometers of use. Well, at least in Europe.

It's deployed in multiple states including my own Minnesota since the company is based here and it's actually a hit here because of set up and ability to handle city calls with ease.

In reference to the discussion of a Water Supply Officer, I agree that it is important to have a WSO from early in most incidents. I 100% disagree with Andy's view (respectfully) that it be the Driver of the Dump Site Engine. I have total respect for Andy's knowledge and background, and have learned from him. I simply disagree with this point of view. In my opinion, an apparatus driver, should only be used in this role as a last resort. It needs to be someone who knows water supply, but is not committed to operating a rig at the incident. Too much for the dump site PO to do and monitor, to have to be the overall WSO. The OFFICER of the WSO is often a good choice. In most of our area(Maryland), the initial WSO, is the officer of the 1st arriving tanker. Not set in stone, tanker may show up driver only. But it's a good place to start.

My former VFD got rid of their Tower the Christmas before I joined and received a regular Ladder Truck, they said the tower was unstable especially when driving and limited visibility for the driver
