@4:10 you can clearly see the blocked PVC orifice. This will allow increased crankcase pressure. The back pressure could blowout your rear seal. Also the PVC blockage will increase the soot which causes sludged oil. This will damage the piston rings and more importantly cause the hydraulic timing chain tensioner to fail which will lead to a jumped chain and destroyed engine. To keep this engine happy never go past 3-5k miles without a oil change. Every 6 months inspect the inlet screens of both VVT solenoids(passenger side on top of valve cover. 10mm bolt and a connector) for oil sludge. If you have a 2.4L that's burning oil consider performing the DIY PVC orifice access in the below video. I personally have a 2016 Equinox LYZ 2WD. It has 155,000 on it and I love the car. I just did this job in my driveway, took me roughly ten hours, valve covers, upper and lower, new PCV valve, tube grommets and plugs. cost me around $200 and a days work. What did we save, around a grand? But, my 58 yo back is still killing me. I just bought this 2013 Pilot EX-L, 113,000 miles. Figured I would change out the spark plugs, as there was no record of them ever being changed... Found oil in the spark plug tubes, hence the valve cover gasket and tube grommet change. The hardest part was getting the power steering pump out of the way, and of course the busted off in the valve cover PCV issue.
