Sir why then we use low impedance differential protection
@amppowersystem6084Ай бұрын
Where there is a chance of CT ratio mismatch and / or polarity change and / or CT used mixing with new and old and / or CT s are different make type etc, it is better to use low impedance differential protection. Moreover, low impedance protection work on current value but high impedance work on voltage across the relay terminal. Low impedance system: each CT wire needs to be connected to the relay but high impedance it is not so. Future feeder expansion may be difficult while the protection is low impedance type

This lecture is uniquely amazing and essential for Protection & Control Engineers. Just a couple of minor points: I believe device no. 80 is a Liquid or Gas Flow Relay, not a DC current flow relay. Also, I couldn't find a reference for 99 being used for transformer over-fluxing protection; it seems to be device number 24. Thanks for the great lecture!
@amppowersystem6084Ай бұрын
80 is flow switch which could be liquid, gas , power etc. As we are dealing electricity , we can use it for Power switch change over scheme as an option 99 is not assigned yet but we can use it as per our convenience. Some engineer use it for overfluxing / over excitation .
@hedejanАй бұрын
@@amppowersystem6084 Isn't device number 24 already designated for over-excitation? Could you please provide references for using device numbers 80 and 186 for electrical current flow and auto-reclose lockout functions? Thank you, Sir.

Sir, IEC does not mention in case we use XLPE current rating against 90deg max temp of its insulation This rating will bring conductor to equilibrium temp 90 degree which is not suitable for terminal of equipment which rated only 75 degree. In this case, How to rectify this problem?
@amppowersystem6084Ай бұрын
It shall be read as conductor temperature on continuous rating and not insulation. Slip of tounge

How you categorize load as continuous or intermittent Load? When you have Pump with as following : 1. Running in 1 hour per day 2. Running in 3 hours per day, then standby 3. Running ini 6 hours per day, then standby 4. Runninh in 12 hours per day, then standby 5. Running for 75 hours per day, then standby. What you classify above motor respectively ? As continuous or intermittent Load? I have Terminal LPG Plant that the pumps running as above condition, and it decided to sizing of 3.3 kV Bus Bar and Power Transformer.

All the 3 CT shall be connected to relay always. But in your video CT connected in phase side, shows one phase CT only with one relay and explained fault happen on other phase will not detect by other CTs. Why dont we connect the CT in same way as in neutral side, so relay will find the fault?
@amppowersystem6084 Жыл бұрын
I dint get you friend. 3 CTs shown on the neutral side for 51v protection. Time ref 4.37 minuts onward Can i request your support to look in it and send me the screen short where you have noticed it. Many thanks for looking into this presentation. Regards Paul

Further to this , here generator is the source and if the fault ahead of CT towards generator fault current will not appear in the CT secondary and relay will remain in active .
