Sorry, no sorry to the pretentious clowns in the comments who are holding on to the late 20th century understanding of Cocteau Twins lyrics. Robin Guthrie always said the lyrics were in English and easy to decipher if you just listened. Liz was embarrassed because she sung in a thick Scottish brogue, used to make up words along the way like Scottish people do, and sang about very personal emotions, at this point many about her relationship to Robin. I saw them live in the 90s and it seemed like she couldn't remember what she originally sang in the studio, so she would improvise on the stage. These interpretations seem legit and expose Liz's deep poetic thoughts, some she'd rather forget perhaps, but legit all the same.
