I'm sure you've listened to it start to finish by now. That's how to learn it on drums also. Just memorising patterns off fills and breaks etc. 👍

I don't have any problem with you pausing and letting everybody know what is going on. We are not all drummers so it would have to be explained to us. However, what I do have a problem with is you disrespecting your viewers. If you were dropping f-bombs on your viewers, you are not a channel that I can view. Show some fucking respect. That's about all...

People that love to hate on Lars because they cannot come to terms how much they suck compared to Lars, even though they think they are personally better than him at playing drums. Also, music is art and people argue about it like it's science. Like you said, Lars "plays simple" but that's not necessarily bad or good; just his creative choice on his song. In his mind he took it far enough on Justice and afterwards he made a conscious choice to play more stripped down kits and parts. Haters probably think Charlie Watts, Ringo Star and Phil Rudd suck too. But haters will never post their own music up here so we can shit on it.

The Rev (RiP) was really inspired by early Metallica/Lars Ulrich from what I can remember. And I can hear a lot of James Hetfield's vocals in M. Shadows. Seeing A7X open for Metallica was amazing a few years ago.

@@JourneyTheBadDrummer ay hell yeah! i personally like a ton of stuff off of The Sound of Perseverance, even though it tends to lean a bit more melodeath/prog compared to their earlier stuff, a couple of my favorites are Scavenger of Human Sorrow and Flesh and the Power It Holds anything off the previous albums is also a banger, especially off of Symbolic (stuff like Without Judgement, Misanthrope, Perennial Quest etc), you really CANNOT go wrong, honestly!

Gen X'er here. There's a couple reasons why people hated Load/Reload back when they released. First, yes, because it was such a huge departure from what Metallica had done prior. The big complaint amongst my friends, it was "Metallica Lite". You mentioned Black Album, which true enough, that began a transition for them due to vocal reasons. James had blown out his vocal chords prior and literally relearned his vocal talent, even going so far as how to actually sing. Not that he couldn't before, but he greatly improved his range and ability to incorporate that into songs. Then came Load and Reload (and Garage Inc, which released about the same time). It was a big experiment by Metallica, branching into all different kinds of styles, while not having any of the hard hitting speed metal songs of the prior albums. That along with their change of style in general ("Friends don't let friends get haircuts" as Alice in Chains members famously held up on signs for MTV's Behind the Music) left many fans underwhelmed. Then there was the financial aspect. Because Load was supposed to be a single album, but got split into Load and Reload. Not all the tracks of either album were as well-received by the fans, and this started a whole topic on Metallica just doing a cash grab when the best tracks were split between the albums (which... duh). It didn't help later on when Metallica, particularly Lars, went on the warpath against Napster and other song-sharing sites, and Metallica started to be viewed as sellouts that didn't care about fans... who were pirating copyrighted material. Probably the closest they got to "being cancelled" since the accident that claimed Cliff (RIP). Edit for the end: You probably have since looked this up since this is a two year old video, but since you asked... Yeah, Jason was on these albums. He's been long gone doing his own thing, "creative differences", and replaced by Rob Trujillo back in '03, shortly before the release of St. Anger.
