My friend had an old Magnette like that, and used that hand crank more than once! I loved that car, the wood dash was so classy, oh, and the positive ground battery! Exciting times when the negative ground car stereo make contact with the metal floor! My friend sold it to another friend who managed to kill it mechanically.

Thanks, I have owned many many British cars and this Magnette has been one of the most reliable. Comfortable too and even many other MG owners have never seen one in the flesh...

Does the string spacing on a 1/4 bass match with the poles on the Krivo P.U.? I own a same size bass and I'm interested to try a Krivo. Thanks

hard to remember as it has been almost six years since I turned that rented 1/4 bass in and bought a 3/4 size Kay. Still using the same krivo on the Kay. As I recall, I got decent response across the strings on that 1/4 bass.

I love that big band swing sound. Your group is great. You play a great C13 steel too.

Thanks for sharing. Eddie eventually went back to non-pedal, and staying mostly in A6, if I got this. Love the way he was basically just sort of "plucking" rhythm throughout several bars on this track. A lot of players seem to always try and be in the forefront. But only the very best are capable of backing off a little, in order to allow other band members to take the lead. Just something to think about.

How's it going? I bought my first pedal steel in the summer of 2020, a Zum Encore. I'm very happy with it, and my playing is coming along. I just wish I had started 30 years earlier.
