What draw weight would you recommend for a beginner ??
@jedgurley15 сағат бұрын
Yup. No definition as to what it is made of. One reason i kinda stayed away from grozier... Most professional bowyers will list what materials they use, i couldn't get a straight answer about what this stuff was. Processed horn? Processed sinew? Absolutely nothing... Sorry i can't buy something that the bowyer doesn't want to tell me about. .. his laminated bows are worth it but he needs to give details on materials.

when we use the khatra technique, the arm needs to be straight to ensure that the arrow slides straight, if the arm is not straight like you use it, the arrow may not shoot consistently for a long time

I know its not considered to be traditional for this style of bow, but I've found that using a consistent anchor with bows like the kheshig, nokhor, etc. makes a huge difference with accuracy. Especially at longer distances. Love your videos btw and I've learned a lot.

I bought it from tercovnice.eu. It's some compressed straw. Not so good. Destroyed pretty quickly - I guess 2000 shots and it fell apart.

If you can do this. Then I can stop and shoot accurately during a vigorous trail run. Which is exactly my goal. What bow do you use for this? What arrow grain weight? Could this stop a grizzly or boar?

I think your method works great for the style and distances you're shooting. I shoot a very heavy bow for hunting purposes so I'm not sure this would work for me. I do love your videos though and my opinion is that if your arrows go where you want, then how can anyone say you're wrong?

Hi! Love your videos. You’re a very good teacher. I have a question tho: when loading a new arrow, how do you avoid the string interacting with the other arrows you’re holding with your thumb?

@areszoraАй бұрын
The Mongolian archers of old used the right nock technique (the one you’re saying won’t work in reality), which involves placing the arrow on the right side of the bow before nocking it. This technique allows for a faster shooting sequence, especially when shooting multiple arrows in a row. It also eliminates the need for arm protectors because the bowstring vibrates to the right after firing. They were considered some of the greatest archers in history.

It's probably misunderstanding. The thing you describe sounds pretty logical and workable. Can you share a link with video or picture how it works, please?

I can see reasons why you would want to bend your lead arm, for example, getting a bow with a short drawlength back to your typical anchor point, or the slight bend would allow you to tension your hand and "springload" your hand into a khatra on release. The idea that you are accelerating your arrow by pushing your hand forward is not true though. The speed lost by reducing your total draw length is not made up for by the relatively slow movement of your arm, unless you have an extremely low poundage bow. Having said that, I know you use low poundage bows with running archery so for your purposes this may very well be viable. I just wanted to point out the increasing the speed of the arrow in this way would not apply to a hunting bow (40# or higher draw weight). You would lose speed with a shorter draw length.

I stopped watching this video when you were standing there trying to talk with your hands instead of holding the bow still so i could see it. Maybe next vid you can talk and hold the still instead of all the up and down movement

One of the best hacks you can do in traditional archery from the beginning: Always train and shoot both sides. left and right handed. Its a unique potential a traditonal bow offers to the shooter: It's designed to shoot it from both sides. No modern compound or even recurve bow can do this.
