the worst for sexual women healt is hysterectomy.I hope this mutilation of women ends one day. ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) describes hysterectomy as a treatment of last resort. Before having a hysterectomy, you should find out the reason for it, treatment options, and long term side effects. Side effects of hysterectomy can include depression and loss of sexual response or desire. Most physicians do not think twice about the sexual side effects associated with hysterectomy. Desire, arousal, orgasm and pain disorders may all be seen post-hysterectomy. Despite this, of the 1200 women seen to date at the Center for Sexual Medicine, very few have presented after hysterectomy. Kilkku et al looked at post-hysterectomy patients, and found that among the women who kept their cervix there was no loss in function, but when the cervix was removed, patients complained of sexual dysfunction. Rhodes et al found that post-hysterectomy patients actually had better sexual function. Even if the woman maintains her ovaries, sometimes the blood supply to the uterus is cut off. Internal orgasms are often changed significantly after hysterectomy. This is observed in part due to the inability to have rhythmic contractions of uterine muscles without the uterus present. Also internal orgasms are changed after hysterectomy due to injury to the nerves which pass near the cervix. Surgeons should try to spare these nerves, but efforts to spare them are limited at the present. The result is that after hysterectomy, many women lose the ability to have an internal orgasm. Reports suggest that if the uterine cervical ganglia were spared during cervix-sparing hysterectomy, sexual function would be preserved.

Hayashi and the team at stlouis children’s saved my life nearly 20 years ago now. Time flies. But my recollection of my time there Does Not. I won’t go into the specifics because it inhibits my growth NOW -- but it was him, David Wilson, Robert Grossman and Salini shanoy that led me and my nearly 6 months IN THE hospital to who I am now. Cancer free. No spinal taps using ketamine …No fentanyl (which I was on because I needed it before it is “abused/used” by people now)….No “apheresis” for autologous stem cell transplant w huge needle, no Infections that are counterintuitive to a chemo/cancer treatment which Caused my extended stay at this hospital. It took years to get over My ordeal and that’s all I care to say…But if those drs are in your corner you’re light years ahead of things and you Are Extremely Lucky. Thanks for this.

At last, watching my hives inflammation fade day after day until they completely vanished was such a relief, I went with what I pointed out and within the first 10 days or so the urticaria was barely visible! I just go'ogled the latest by Shane Zormander and after 20 days my skin has never been healthier!

Thank you for this lecture. Does all patients needs to be in a cardiac monitor during the administration and up to at least 14 days if the first 14 are the most critical in developing toxicity?

I had cadaver bone put in my back almost 20 years ago. I didn't know of these symptoms. I been having them for years. Discoloration on my arms. Now lichen simplex chronicus. Bad lungs also. Can that happen from Cadaver bone in my back surgery? Should I get checked out and what kind of doctor would I need to see?

Although I know this is a bit outdated as there is potentially better treatment options this presentation was extremely helpful and informative. The questions asked and the answers were also very helpful. I would love to see an update going over the current best treatments.

@josealvarez9237
@josealvarez9237 7 ай бұрын
@josealvarez9237
@josealvarez9237 7 ай бұрын
@josealvarez9237
@josealvarez9237 7 ай бұрын

I found this a bit helpful. My symptoms began at the end of 2009. Doctors said it is autoimmune. They also found kidney thin membrane syndrome. My Blood pressure has been low all my life (I am almost 67 ) My fingers turn blue when I am too cold. Tired of meds, not taking any. I am an ovo vegetarian but when used B12 supplements increased too much. Should I also test C reactive protein ? How useful is just hemp oil?

You mentioned patients who have AML with TP53 do best in an academic center. My nephew was diagnosed at Emory Hospital. After beginning chemotherapy the AML cells were undetected. He was sent home and to the Payton Anderson Cancer Center in our community for treatment. His doctor at Emory is working closely with his doctor at Payton Anderson. About a week after coming home he developed a headache and fever. Tests were done and it did not look good. He was given 6 months to 1 year to live. He is 51. His fever after peeking at 106 is now down to under 100. Still has the headache. Doctors are testing to find the source of the infection that is the cause of this relapse. We are wondering if my nephew should go to MD ANDERSON in Houston TX? Or should he feel confident that he is receiving the very best treatment out there? My nephew is not ready to accept the prediction 6 months to a year. How long should he wait before applying to MD ANDERSON or like facilities? Hard decisions! Jason is at Navicent hospital here in our community. It is a teaching hospital connected with Mercer School of Medicine. I am sorry this is so long.

Hope all is well. Living in Houston and I’m waiting for a stem cell transplant. We went through the ER at MDA on 1/1/24 and were accepted. Diagnosed with AML, December 29, 2023.. We were out of network, currently moving to Methodist Hospital for the transplant procedure. Very scary!

Dr Abbas is our Dr - I would definitely call MDA and speak with someone. The person we spoke with when we 1st called listened to what we told them, we sent my reports to them from our Dr, they guided us on what we needed to do, he checked with the chief of staff, called us back and we checked in through the ER. It never hurts to make a call. We just found out Monday, the stem cell transplant is a much more intense chemo treatment than the 1st chemo I completed on 2/6/24. I’m not sure I want to do it now myself. It was rough. I just turned 57. My daughter is 16 and will be a senior next year. My husband said, you don’t want to see your daughter graduate? 😢

Hi. I had the 1st autologous stem cell transplant in INDIANA at IU hospital on the campus of IUPUI. It was in the fall of 1988. I had Hodgkins stage 4b which had spread to my marrow. I took a beginner ballet course the summer before the transplant. I was in for a month and recovered fast.

Forgot to mention that I am 55 now. 2 brain surgeries 9 yrs ago, triple bypass mitral valve replacement 2 yrs ago. Before 1988 stem cell transplant, I had MOPP chemo and chest radiation at17/18 then second round of chemo at 18/19 then the stem cell. It would be interesting of long term effects of all this on the heart and brain.
