Resolume will listen to any MIDI signal , including ones generated by DAW's like Sonar. Sending MIDI from one application can be a little tricky and depends on the operating system too. You need a "midi router" application to route midi from one application to another. You should do a little googling around this subject before you continue. I've personally successfully sent MIDI from Ableton to Resolume using Midisplit from Juicebar. I have also used this application to send MIDI from a drummachine to both Garage Band and Resolume. Alternativly you could have a look at MidiOx which is an advanced midi router for Windows. I've used this in the past for bigger art installations, but this is probably overkill for your project and requires some thorough knowledge about the inner-workings of the midi-protocol. If you have a way to grab an NDI, Spout, Syphon feed you should be good to go.

Just animate the regular transform. The widget is simply another interface for the Transform effect.

Use the "Texture From Data" node instead. Recent updates have shuffled some of the node-names around a bit

So you would have a single layer - with multiple streams on that layer and you would want to monitor each of these stream on a single monitor? The solution would be to have each stream on a separate layer and create monitors for said layers. However, it would be a nice to have a monitor option where you lock a monitor to a given clip.

@@mysteriousstranger9496 Assuming that you are rendering in Blender - Yes. Arena can't read Blender files of course. For the best experiences: convert your Blender Renders to the DXV codec using Resolume Alley (a free conversion tool that comes bundled with Arena and Avenue).

This feature (and much more column magic) is in internal-testing right now. So we won't have to wait long until will can claim that promised kingdom of yours 👑

Wire does not have layers. But in Arena/Avenue you can use the record panel. In the "After Recording" panel you can set it to empty clip.

@@ResolumeVJSoftware I use Arena 7.20.1 , I still experimented and realized that the Grid effect does not have to be the first of all effects, but it is only important that the Transform is below the Grid effect and only then will I get vertical and horizontal lines in the Grid effect, .... when the width of the resolution is smaller than the height, e.g. (600x800) then only shows vertical lines I posted the video here on my channel so you can see exactly what's going on

The Gradient Palette node has been retired in 7.20.1 You can learn about this in our recent Color Type video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f17XhKaNmNx7rtE Long story short: Because we introduced the color type the Linear node can now do exactly the same as the Gradient Palette node. So we removed the Gradient Palette node as the Linear is a more flexible tool. Resolume Wire is still in full development so you might find older tutorials using outdated nodes. You then used a camera, Bloom, Feedback Delay (which I have a hard time getting to work) and suggested some other effect node ideas/ I have a hard time getting things to work at the end (before output texture). I'm new with wire but getting better with the help of these videos. Oh yeah I'd like to see how you can get more (depth) between different elements with drop shadow or blur. Thank You, Jim
