Such a lovely town Visited my late mother in law who lived at Brackey just outside the town used to go to the west end cafe always lovely meals and in the evening went to the chipy caravan love ❤️ to everyone in Ardara from Highbury London

I drove through Ardara in May, 2008 and was compelled to visit one of the woollen shops close to the top of the hill on the main street. I purchased a fabulous Arran wool pullover for only 45 euros -- an acquisition that would have cost me more than triple that price if it were available where I live. I still wear it in the late Autumn through to the early Spring and it looks just like new, drawing approving looks and comments from people who have never set eyes on anything so beautifully knitted. I remember also buying a made-to-order sandwich at one of the food shops part-way down the hill and the middle-age proprietor doing his best to dissuade me from shaking salt on his chicken slices.

Dunfanaghy really is a little gem of a town.Rugged yet beautiful scenery like Horn Head, powder-white sandy beaches like Killahoey Blue flag beach and a relaxed atmosphere in the town where the pace of life seems slower than we're used to these days. Tis a wonderful place to spend a day or two.
