StaalPlaat: Sir, if you want to make this a very marketable idea, you could tweak your setup such that when the wind is from a given direction you get a certain cord, but when the wind changes, the chord changes. There were a lot of applications were this would be useful… basically any place where a change of Wind direction could either affect safety or some upper operation being undertaken.

Thanks for the video! This is very interesting. Since it had to be in the water to work, how does it work? And, do you have another video with all the other different types that you made?
@staalplaat3 жыл бұрын
the water is the air pump or its called a vertical turbine.
@daphneraven67453 жыл бұрын
Staslplaat: What would happen if once it started to warm up, you popped the pump back on the valve and put a little bit more air pressure in it? And maybe pop a little bit more in before the bottle cools after the treatment?Would that prevent any shrinkage from the heat treatment?

No, you can do without it, but it will shrink a lot more so you will have a shorter plastic string.

Great video! BTW the name of the website www.plasticsouls.org is nearly illegible against the bright background. You might want to put it in the comments and pin it to the top.

You could use a portable 12v dc air pump that runs on batteries. Coleman makes them for air mattresses.

The disadvantage of that is that the rope you get is already in it's shrunken state, you can't shrink it further, if it is a property that you need in a plastic rope then this method wont be good for that. For example, i use this plastic rope to X tie a wooden mallet head to it's handle, then when its tied tight, i heat up the plastic rope so it shrinks further and really gripping the mallet head and handle tight.

first: if you do not treat it like this you can not cut it, and in your few you can only work with bottles with s mood surface, and there ar not many (close to none). But second, and more important, when you raise the inner pressure it's only partly shrink, and my experience is that it still works fine.

@@staalplaat That is great to hear, As it is true it is very hard to find smooth bottles, If you say i can still shrink it further after smoothing the bottle, it should be fine for my usage as well, I will give it a try, thanks!
