What’s the read for the qb on the rpo? Is he just seeing if they’re pressed?
@tdotbanks

@@tysonhudson6484 The apex defender is the read. If he is out the box give, if he attached to the box on snap throw.

Coach, why always run to the boundary? Could definitely become a big touchdown play in more space
@tdotbanks
@tdotbanks 9 ай бұрын
Most teams roll coverage to the field, this is a 1 word play designed to steal yards, we will run JET to the field but we have had more success gaining yards off the quick version to the boundary.

I ran this offense at the youth level and had so much success. We won multiple consecutive state championships running this. This counter style play worked to perfection because most defenses will not read guards. Great work coach!

Its classic single wing football out of multiple sets. Treating the wing back counter as a power run play forces the defense to defend the weakside of the formation giving you a numbers advantage on the strong side. I ran a similar offense in 2008 and averaged over 40ppg at a small school that hasnt played a snap of varsity football since. We barely had enough players to field a team and we'd score 40+ every week against much larger schools 3:46. Its an equalizer if you know how to teach it.

You need a playbook? lol, it’s the same play every down. This works until a defense just starts cutting the legs at the line of scrimmage.

One tip for your running backs: when they are faking, they should be looking to block the defender if they go inside of them (like on clip one). If they go around, that is fine because that takes even longer to get to the qb. By doing this, you will cut down the distance in which a defender who doesn't bite on the fake can get to the qb

QB should ride longer, RB is supposed to wheel for the throwback. Never called it though.
@happyman42
@happyman42 3 жыл бұрын
@@tdotbanks ooooh I like that! Have you seen the stuff Dan Casey did when he featured BYU and the dash concept. Made me think of this esp if you do the throwback wheel to the RB bc this and that alone. Defenses ain't trusting their eyes anymore

I like this and it looks like the S loses #3 when he takes those 2 steps inside. Becomes a super stress on the CB bc he stays for the Corner or he drives to leverage the out by #3
