I miss Chuuk.. I lived there many years ago...my dad was director of public service for Trust Territory of Pacific Island..He trained the constabulary...Radin&Myra lived with us in a quanset hut above the then radio station...Swader was their son...he would be about 75 now...How I mis that beautiful island.
I am from Iraq .. Does micronesia have asylum and work and I can live in it and my destination is coming .. or is it a weak country in terms of an economy and cannot be living in?

I heard a old story from my grandma about the people of the mountains that survive the float. The whole lagoon used to be a whole island until the float came and the survivors who ran up to the highest points of the island survived. Another story spoke of a giant monster who awoken from the ground and tore up the island to create all those smaller islands

Beautiful place, I’d love to live there and dedicate the remainder of my life to helping them rebuild. If every common person donated $2 dollars per month for the rest of their lives we could build it up . I would begin by bringing in Farmers from Vietnam to set up fields of food i.e. rice fields, fruit plantations ect and to teach, the locals. Secondly I would bring in retired high end teachers set them up with free patches of land as incentive. Thirdly one or two builders from Thailand because that culture can build beautiful Holmes out of material from the area. Fourthly I would bring in investors to develop small areas for tourism family oriented towards Christian families ( big pool of believers) to come visit and also be sponsors to take some kids to the states for education. Lastly I would replicate what other similar impoverished areas have done to bring themselves up to a better living standards but the real change would be investors looking to expand causing enrichment for the locals.

These are U.S. Citizens....how come their island isn't given the proper infrastructure they need? Agriculture, energy resources, maintenance, housing, supplies, water, food, medical care, dental, etc, etc....who is representing them in Washington DC?

I live there in 1974-1976. My grandmother was Postmaster in the 50s. I lived in a house owned by a man named Luke. It was along the airstrip. Back then the airport was dirt and you could walk out there and no fences. It was nice.
