This song…. I cannot describe the connection I have. I was as a teen very involved in the church, especially as a musician. Politics became involved in the church and that changed the course of my life, especially my thoughts and feelings about christianity. It took me more than 15 years to find my way back to God. We recorded a version of this song. As an afrikaans speaking person, I fell in love with the lyrics. I fell in love with the song, I’ve listened to it on repeat for the last hour. I truly cannot describe the connection. All I can say is, God is always present. My first time back in church this song was sung, I knew I lost my way, tremendously bad, but I found my way back. God is truly amazing. We recorded my version in 2005 , and I wish I could upload that version. I love this version, but we added vocals and instruments. Close to a rock metal vibe, and our teen service lived for that version. God is in control, he loves us all, and takes care of us all. My life a year ago would’ve sent most to suicide, but his hand was on my shoulder. After 15 years he was still there, waiting to guide me where I need to be.

Hello. Thank you for telling us about your experience with this song. It's encouraging to know that once God has you He's not letting go. Yes, the church is full of fallible people, each with their own personalities and ideas and it can become very abrasive if you're not careful, especially for younger people who still need to exercise their patience and self control. The best advice I'd have is to simply find a congregation that fits your personality. Life's too short to bump heads for no reason. If possible, consider sharing you recording of this song with the world. If it's on tape I can digitize it and if the mixing needs attention there's a couple of AI tricks to tweak it. I'm thankful that you've turned to Jesus once more. He's really patient with us, more patient than any of us. I've thought about why we're allowed to make all these mistakes and why He'd use those that made the biggest mistakes. I concluded that it's better to have your issues behind you than in front of you and it does give you a view on things you could otherwise not have. I wish you all the best. Best regards.
