I ran one of these when it was brand new. 20" HES Tracer Lathe. We traced out tube mill rolls at American Electric Fusion Corp. I had many years of enjoyment on this lathe. It was a beauty. That was in 1965-70

Thanks for this explanation. I found one of these buried in junk at work, and everyone said it was a rotary table, which didn’t seem right cause it has no handle to adjust the angles.

Curious about changing threading speeds on the fly. I'm picking up the same model machine this Saturday. The only way we could reliably change the 1-10 wheel was to turn the chuck manually quite a bit (more than jogging would). Seems like you weren't having any issues grinding gears. Is it possible that this lathe is designed to have threading speeds shift on the fly?

Picking up this exact same lathe (Shen Jen Industrial Co.) next week. I'm anticipating it will be a great tool in our shop.

How much is yours worth? I have a 63 fleetwide wide rear wheel wells, heard it is rare. Its built up has a Corvette motor but I want to know what it's really worth. Rust free I can't post pics on here I need to shoot a video of it.
