I have two bones that I use with Tachyon Ash and the original dark green Poison Ivy. They work fine with both ropes. I love these things. I don't have an Akimbo but they seem overly complicated and I don't have a real need to buy one at the price. The Bulldog Bone is simple and just about fool proof. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The bulldog bone you compared size with the akimbo, the black one, is old. the other bulldog bone you were using is all steel and is extremely compact, the main prob with the akimbo is if it’s not weighted when you slip, or just doing normal spiking and misjudge and you slip/fall a bit, it will fall n slide till there’s enough weight to stop it right away, meaning it will not “catch” unless you put weight on the akimbo whenever you sit back. The bulldog bone is the perfect hybrid of the Rope runner pro and the unicender except with pins instead of plates (the uni is my fave, most diverse ( you can use a floating prusik with drt and switch to srt mid tree!)) but for srt the BDB is way under looked and it’s ALL steel, midline attachable self tending self advancing and can fit in the palm of your hand. I’m not saying the akimbo is trash, quite the opposite it is one of the most coolest, slickest, designs ever! with the adjustable bollards like a rope wrench in tiny package it has the overall James Bond feel. Just wish I could trust it more on a limb walk
