If I were your daughter and even me asking myself I would ask you to please when you have a moment to spare start looking up videos KZbin Google everything and type in every single question that comes to mind about our addiction every single one even if you think it's a dumb question there is no dumb question. More than anything us as addicts just want to be understood, especially by our own mothers. The more you learn about this disease, the less suffering you will go through wondering why we don't love you enough to change

And when we asked our mothers for help don't think for a second that you are our first on the list to ask for help because I promise you you are actually last on the list. Believe it or not we hate the humiliation of having to once again ask for money or help or a ride or food or help with laundry or whatever it may be . My mom says the exact same thing that you are saying here in this video don't get your hopes up they're just lies and all we need is our next fix. Or any other assumption that comes to mind due to our actions. Please try to be more patient I know that's a lot to ask and you might be thinking to yourself who does this girl think she is

The last thing we want to do is burden you or throw any more disappointment at you because we know that having to fill those things due to our actions and lifestyle hurts you as a mother to see us this way and learn that we're still making the choices that we are especially when we know that more than anything you would rather receive a phone call telling you that we are in treatment or somewhere safe getting the help that we

When you don't hear from us sometimes days maybe even weeks it's not because it's a lack of respect for our mothers nor does it have anything to do with how much we love you it more than anything has to do with the shame we feel from ourselves and the disappointment we feel from you

I put my mom through this same pain. Please allow me to speak for your daughter as an addict myself. I love my mom but if you know anything about addiction it takes complete control of your motives your priorities your every aspect of life.

My Aunt struggled for 15 years. She got pregnant with my nephew half way through her addiction. Eventually she lost him, her car, her home. She was homeless for quite a few years and you're 100% right about it having to be enough for them to want to quit. It finally was though and after she got clean she regained so much love for life that she never wants to be in that place again. I feel so fortunate that she did and for our family, losing her to drugs will not be our experience now. But people often say " you have to let them hit rock bottom" not knowing most peoples rock bottom will be death. Thank you for sharing yours and your daughters story and I hope that one day she doesn't have to struggle anymore. ❤

Let me explain the Florida mentality. We just had our house blown to hell but, we're going to rebuild. Year after year after year after year. I can see a huge flaw in their logic. And you wonder why the rest of the United States can't afford homeowners insurance? It's because these morons aren't smart enough to build a home elsewhere in the United States and keep a tiny vacation home in Florida that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 🤔😮🤯🤯🤯🤯BTW , "we bought bread".🤣🤣🤣🤣 Are people really this stupid? Apparently so.

I’m with her. If you live in the gulf south you hear about the storm of the century coming right at you three times a season. If the power goes out, and you have the means, you’re going to go to the nearest town with electricity and get a cheap hotel If it’s worse than that, then you’ll be evacuated

I’ve followed Dr. Nichols for a long time. I think what seems like anger is actually passion. I have been accused of coming across a certain way.

I just discovered Dr. Nichols, i think from you (before i took a hiatus from tiktok) and he is so well educated on suds and harm reduction. Really appreciate his videos, and learning many things from the scientific/ medical perpective. I just wish more providers were as understanding and compassionate as you guys. That's one of the main reasons i hate going is because the judgement is so evident, you can feel it. Even though i haven't used in years.🤷🏻♀️ I don't think that should be.

It is unfortunate and I see it daily also. That’s why dr Nichols and myself continue to speak out. The stigma in healthcare is very real.

I watched a couple videos from that place. It’s an absolute scam and joke. Patrick is on drugs. He shows every sign. Tiny pin point pupils when it’s sunny out. Constantly itching himself. A co-ed program. It’s sooo pathetic. He’s ruining lives while robbing insurance companies.
@Trashhhhhhh-g2s4 ай бұрын
Your pupils get smaller when light is shone into them. I agree with you on everything else but saying that the sun (which is a light) making his pupils constrict is a sign of drugs is actually a sign of you not knowing what you're talking about about

Treatment is a means to a ends,it only works when you want to work it. I wasn't able to stop using until my desire to be clean outweighed my desire to get high.

I had a staid relationship at best with my dad and step mom for the longest time, and then my dad started asking me to dinner, having me over for movies. I was still getting high, he knew that. But that was the beginning for me. After using for a decade that was the year i actually began and kept with my recovery. It feels so much more possible when your family is behind you. When neither my mom or my dad would talk to me, that was easily my lowest and worst time of using. The tough love approach is so inhumane sometimes 17:09

"Which came first mental illness or addiction?" Very very accurate, I know for me it was mental illness, unknowingly masking autism and trying to find a way in the world to feel "normal" by self medicating, and I didn't learn or understand or even find out about my autism until I was in very early recovery, I just always knew I had severe adhd not knowing in women there is a huge crossover with the two

I’m not sure what this is about. I just saw a video of him putting a phone call with someone’s sponsor on KZbin asking why that sponsor took the person out. So I started looking into what this place is about. 3 videos in and it seems like a place that just cares about money and clip farming for social media. Not sure what the individual was talking about but you said something about the mom. I went to a rehab facility and there was no contact with anyone / including parents for the first week-10 days. They say it’s to give the parents a break. We put them through so much as addicts and they finally get to breath easy knowing we are in a safe environment is what they say. A few clinicians there understood that when we are at our lowest and want to just talk to our parents a quick phone call can be the deciding factor if someone stays or leaves. The help in this country for people like me is a joke. I wish they did more with ibogaine and possibly psychedelics. I feel broken as a human. A lot of podcast I listen to talk about about psychedelics when used as a tool to help have those tough conversations and interactions with yourself can really help. I know ibogaine for opiate users is proven to work far better than any treatment we have in the US today. Right now the success rate of me getting off and staying off opiates is like 10%. I think they say with ibogaine it increases drastically for a lot of people. Upwards of 50%
