Thanks for your interest in Virnig attachments, Seth! The Mini-Ex and Mini Skid Steer Rotary Brush Cutters are *not* similar, and we do not recommend using a mini skid steer cutter in this way. The decks and blades are different, and the mini skid is not designed to be in the air.

Is there any available footage of one of these getting into 3” material? Am looking at purchasing one for primarily 2-3” or larger material and don’t quite know if it’ll handle it based on these videos

Here is more demo footage on each: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6W3lKiXZr5gp5I kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGawXnaugsqdnbc Our max cut capacity rating is how much the cutter can effectively handle without sacrificing performance and durability. So when we say this cutter can handle 3” diameter material, you can trust it to perform exceptionally well in that application. Our cut capacity sets a realistic expectation for what our equipment can achieve and helps you make an informed decision. Thanks for your interest!

Thanks, we're celebrating 35 years this year! It's incredible to think how far Virnig has come since 1989. 78" or 84" V60 Root Rake Grapple would be the best match since it'd be wider than tracking width (the 78" attachment is 80.5" measuring from the two outermost teeth on each side). Photos, Videos, and Specs - www.virnigmfg.com/product/root-rake-grapple-skid-steer-attachment/ Similar to the grapple, I'd recommend a 78" or 84" cutter. For what you need it to do, any of the 78" or 84" V50 Series cutters should work well as long as you get the right motor configuration for it. If your 770 doesn't have high flow, then the 25 GPM motor will give you the highest blade tip speed and best overall performance since your loader runs at 23 GPM in standard flow. If you're dealing with a lot of hills and valleys, then a floating deck cutter would be a solid choice. It'll leave a nice finish and look like a lawn if you want that final appearance. All Cutters - www.virnigmfg.com/products/brush-cutters/ We also have skid steer augers and bits! Standard - www.virnigmfg.com/product/auger-drive/ High Torque - www.virnigmfg.com/product/auger-drive-high-torque/ 4' Bits - www.virnigmfg.com/product/auger-bits/ I'd suggest reaching out to our sales team, [email protected] or 800-648-2408. They can help coordinate your best fit with each model and help locate a Virnig dealership near you. Thank you!

I'm between getting this attachment and getting both the Jenkins Iron & Steel tree puller and stump bucket with grapple. The cost for their two units combined is less than the cost of your single unit. But, your combo unit looks like a quality piece of equipment. I'm on the fence. Swapping attachments vs having a single attachment to do both jobs would be nice. But...the grapple on their stump bucket would be handy. I'm having a tough time making my decision...
@VirnigMfgInc
@VirnigMfgInc 8 ай бұрын
While a lower price may seem appealing at first glance, there are several crucial factors here. The Digging Tree Puller (DTP) cylinder features 30,000lbs of clamping force, 10x more than their tree puller cylinder which offers 3,000lbs of force. Our push bar is made from 3/8" thick steel and built to withstand substantial weight. The serrations on the top help control/haul larger trees. The push bar often bears the full brunt of the tree's weight, sometimes unintentionally. Their weaker push bar, made of thinner steel, simply won't hold up under pressure like ours does. The cylinder is guarded and hoses are safely routed, minimizing the risk of damage. Contrast that with theirs, where a simple snag on a low hanging branch could result in you fixing an oily mess instead of working. Choosing the Digging Tree Puller isn't just a matter of price, it's about investing in unparalleled quality, versatility, efficiency and long term value. It's about having a tool that not only gets jobs done, but continues to do so reliably long after the initial purchase price is forgotten. www.virnigmfg.com/dealer-finder/

Can I put carbide teeth on in and use it like a ruckus rake to resurface basalt gravel roads that have large rocks? We have more gravel roads than paved roads here on the big island of Hawaii but it also rains constantly so the gravel roads get destroyed weekly. It would be much more efficient to grind a new surface because graders have a hard time dealing with the hard basalt left exposed after heavy rain. The gravel gets washed away and can’t be retrieved in many cases. Yeah they need to learn how to grade roads for run off but they’re too stupid or want job security. Probably the later.
@VirnigMfgInc
@VirnigMfgInc 10 ай бұрын
Virnig's Power Rake is the ideal tool for the job, combining the functions of a tiller, box blade, and rake in one product. The carbide teeth effortlessly pulverize gravel and soil while leveling and grading the surface. It will quickly remove gravel potholes and washboards while cutting down high spots and filling low spots. Specs, photos, and videos here: www.virnigmfg.com/product/power-rake/ Once you get the hang of it, the rake delivers a superior & level finish in just one or two passes. It'll also windrow bigger rocks off to the side when angled. Be mindful not to apply too much down pressure to avoid creating washboards. PRO TIP: Use a dirt bucket to fill larger holes and let our power rake handle the rest.
@anthonyjohnson100
@anthonyjohnson100 10 ай бұрын
If this little rake would actually chew up Hawaiian Basalt rock I’d be beyond impressed. I see it working great for resurfacing existing gravel because it’s just mixing it back up and leveling it out but when the gravel gets washed away in certain areas you’re left with solid rock here in Hawaii so I need something that can turn rock into gravel and this rake doesn’t look like the tool for that. I’m thinking a skid steer might not be big enough. Maybe a tractor with a 3point with at least 300hp might be better.

Oh I see! In this case, I'd recommend to research skid steer stone crushers or cold planers. We don't offer anything like that *yet* but those attachments would be better suited for solid rock. Let us know if you find something that works! Intriguing job.

I have one of these and I like it, does a good job. It appears that on the top of it there are hooks to allow you to pick it up from the top with your machine. Am I seeing this wrong? What are the hooks for?
@VirnigMfgInc

Great question. The hooks on the top are to slide a bucket edge into, so you can transport a bucket and the land leveler while taking up a lot less space on a trailer.
