Great episode and goddamn I expected some hater energy from Cullen but he went beast mode with it. I wanna add to the comfort game question and ask if any of you have any comfort media (outside games) be it a film, a certain episode of show, a comic or podcast.

A whole one hour of Cullen giving a rant about Gundam? Fuck yes. Though I haven't seen SEED yet (and probably won't), I've heard many negative things about it, and you convinced me to not to watch ever, even if I run out of any other Gundam shows that I'm yet to watch. And it was great to hear you getting fired up on the whole newtype and mutual understanding topic, because these two are probably closest and dearest things to me about Gundam in general. I love the idea of this dream that seems unachievable, yet still there are some characters who desperately try to make this dream come true... And they fail! If it's not 00, of course. These shows left such a big, bitter-sweet impression on me and it still lasts when I think about the plot, since I'm relatively new into Gundam (less than two years into it, except that PS One fighthing game I used to play 17 years ago). And finally, here's some questions: 1) Cullen, why do you dislike Gundam Unicorn? I've heard that some people really don't like this one, but honestly I don't get it. Made me curious if I missed the point of it, because everything that you've said about Gundam in general - newtypes, Char (100% agree with you that he DID gave a fuck), etc. 2) Have you guys seen Ergo Proxy? If yes, what are your thoughts on this one? It's a controversial one, but I personally have a special place in my heart for this one. 3) Do you enjoy rhythm games? And maybe you've heard about Muse Dash? I've never touched that sweet rhythm grass in my life, except for some old Guitar Hero java game before, but Muse Dash is one of my favorite games rn. 4) Since you've touched the topics of mental illnesses and comforting games... What do you listen to when you feel really, really down? Have you ever hyperfixated on one artist or a band when/if you were depressed for a very long time? For months or years maybe. For me it was Carissa's Wierd. It's the saddest yet most comforting shit I've ever heard, and I recommend you to check these guys out. And if you feel secure enough, I'm curious to hear about tough times from you. But I might be crossing the line here. Sorry if you mentioned any of this stuff (I think you've mentioned Muse Dash before? dunno) and if we're only allowed to leave just one question. I have never heard of your main channels and projects you've been involved, and randomly got your Sonic episode in my recommendation feed, probably because I was in my Sonic phase once again at that time. Was VERY surprised when I heard you mention Gundam because I'm a huge Gundam fan as well (UC & 00 mostly), and it's quite rare to see someone talk about it. Especially where I'm from (the biggest and coolest fan community has just ~700 people in it in Russia). It's good to have you while I'm at the job or playing Minecraft xD So yeah, I'm really glad I found you by this ridiculously small chance and you turned out to be awesome guys that I share many things in common with. Maybe I'll leave you a question later, since I wanted to do so for quite some time, but that's about it for now :)

Cullen gushing over many of the 3D Sonic games has mr thinking how these games are like comfort blankets. I pad 14.99 for Sonic Forces and enjoyed my time with it, warts and all, compared to a lot of AAA games that would demand so much time out of me while offering no real satisfaction in return.

Here comes the Sonic filibuster (For real though, the bit about "you can't engage in talking about Sonic about revealing a bit about yourself in the process" is some damn good words.)

Ended up checking out the podcast through Cullen and didn’t expect to see Kazuma as a host. I was aware of him from The Last Adventure Cast and his Ghost of Tsushima article. Besides that the excitement for Sonic games was great 😆
