Love video. Tell me, before buying the car & growing up, did someone teach you basic mechanics? Did you go to an automotive school? Just how do you know Beetle mechanics? Not many people will buy a car & go right to fixing it. Of course, there're books to read, but one still has to know the general material. I'm about to buy a squareback & want to work on it myself. (Retired in San Antonio, TX, but moved back home).

Why not run a decklid with all the tin and seals? I daily my 62 everyday and never overheat in 115 degree heat, while sitting in traffic. I dont want you to cook that engine.
