I'm suprised that none of you Mechanic didn't notice, but from what ican see of the engine it is a QSK.the lope & smoke is retarded timing & low compression.

Doubt it. Qsk never was on road so wouldn’t be allowed to pull, except for exhibition

I spent the better part of 48 years driving Cummins engines and NEVER had a Cummin's idle like that cold after the first 10/15 seconds when all cylinders started hitting, doing what these are doing is governor issue!
@jeffheitman63636 жыл бұрын
GnonplussedGnome it's a overfueling issue lol. I'm sure Luke does take that up the highway like that lol

I wanna see a hi-rail Brandt Peterbilt pull that sled. I bet it pull it straight down the track with no problem. Those are meant to pull thousands of pounds down a railroad.

I never understood why these badass old motors lope so bad at idle. but they sound cool as hell.. southern shaker would be proud..
@waults8 жыл бұрын
+whb1965 The reason they lope so bad has to do with the port time pressure fuel system, the amount of fuel injected is controlled by a variable pressure valve on the pump and the size of the ports in the injectors, which is somewhat hard to control with precision.While stable in stock form, when the engine is modified, it responds faster than the governor can react. So, say you want 1000 RPM, the governor gives fuel and the engine spikes up to 1200 RPM - so the governor cuts fuel, but then RPMs drop to 800 before the fuel can be reapplied. In affect - gives you that lope.
wrong end of the track, Jack! Next time film at the other end....

Foxtrot Oscar That "smoke" and "stuff" is actually a mixture of soot. It falls to the ground and gets washed away by the rain, if you have ever walked by someones house whil they have a fire going you are just as likely to breathe that in and die. The reason why disels smoke is not because they are improperly tuned but because when the turbos kick in it dumps more fuel into the engine causing a slight overfuel mixture, this is unavoidable because u need a high fuel content at lower rpms without the turbos. Try to be less ignorant before you comment next time.

Pollution standards for Diesels in the United States are more strict than they are in Europe. In fact, they are the most strict in the world. This is just playtime. Roll the coal!
@jackkarie528110 жыл бұрын
Agreed. They just poison our food instead.
@WWPTV7 жыл бұрын
That's right. If we were worried about pollution, we wouldn't do business with China. The west side of all of our mountains are worse off than the east. Stuff gets up in the jet stream and then it settles.
