The era between RDLS and Automaton (which is still technically "Rock Dust Light Star"-era, I suppose) has always been really a mixed bag in terms of Jamiroquai performances, and this is definitely one I have,,, mixed feelings on. I don't hate it, but you can really tell they were trying to blend some new stuff with their current sound and it just wasn't hitting like they thought it would. I don't know if it's a pedal or the type of bass that Paul is playing, I'm straight up not feeling it. And I hate saying that because Paul always tears it up on this song. I know Jami started taking TWOM in a more jazzy rock (that's the best way I can describe it??) direction during RDLS, and I really liked the arrangement with all brass instruments instead of the classic brass + flute. Their show in late May of 2011 at the Paris Casino was a great example of that. Though I was pretty underwhelmed by this specific arrangement. I feel like they cut a lot of it out, and even though it's not meant to be a focal part of the song, it still adds to the fullness and grandiosity of the tune. Can't say I really cared for Matt's keyboarding this time around, it just felt like he was trying to fill in empty space. And usually there's more warmth to the keyboard than what is being played here. Usually it's on a setting with more reverb or it's supposed to act as a second bass line. (But then again, they implement that more in the Automaton arrangement). And yeah, that middle breakdown/jam session,,, left a lot to be desired. It wasn't funky. It wasn't exciting. There was no scatting or fun improvisational lyrics Jay usually makes up on the fly. I wasn't even getting hype for the chorus to come back around. There wasn't anything special about it. Again, not hating. I love this song and 99.9% of the time this band always kicks ass live. As a still relatively new Jamiroquai fan born after over half of their discography had already come out, I find it interesting to go back and watch how performances of certain songs evolve with the band's ever changing sound. I'll just chalk this one up to being in a weird transitional period lol.

This channel knows how to film, 1:20 mins into the video and we're airborne. So we can listen to the engines roar for 10 mins. Unlike other channel that show taxi for like 15-30 mins then take off/airborne for 3 mins...just ridiculous.

0:10 Great job, pilot! The A340-300s accelerate slowly causes underpowered. So… Just what if you just takeoff the A340-300 properly, if firstly you can just brakes on, secondly increase the throttle and spool-up, thirdly after 1.5 or 3 seconds, increase the throttle between 94 RPM to 99.5 RPM, fourthly release the brakes, lastly feel and see when the plane takes off well and V1.2 rotation too, you can do just slowly decrease the throttle a bit. (just try to jump off like the bird, but some A340-300s can’t) Is that OK…? :)
