The worst thing for the reusability of any text is to encourage people to scribble in it with highlighters, pens and markers. If you must mark it up, do use a light erasable instrument. A book can be reused for many, many readers and there are so many people around the world who cannot afford them. To treat them like a single use item is self indulgent in the extreme.

Ironic or intentional? The first shot of the student writing in her book using an INK PEN is to mark "an abomination" (1:25). As with sheet music, make your notes in light PENCIL only, or even better, removable color post-it tabs; don't ruin your books for yourself or the next user/ owner!

Are there plans to reimburse those who lost so much in this injustice? I am from that area born and raised, my family have deep roots in west Texas even have members who fought in may of the wars in the area, even in the Texas - Mexican war, on Texas side. We are Apache and Spanish , but because Texas doesn’t allow reservations to exist in Texas we are one of the federally not recognized tribes. They took away our lands and rights as a people calling us Mexican. Not recognizing us as indigenous people and when they realized their mistake started a process to transport as may as possible to California so as to mix with local Spanish/Mexican citizens thinking in time our history would be lost and any claim to area and lands would be forgotten. Stealing what is rightfully ours. Detribalization. How will Texas and the federal government compensate us for what was stolen? They cannot claim conquered lands as we were not at war and considered citizens at the time.
