I've always raised all my dogs from pups. That way anything that happens is on me. Some breeds are just one person dogs, they bond and rather not be bothered with anyone else.

That first male wants to avoid you ,very tense and anxious dog

Gorgeous rotties but that first one wasn’t receptive to being pet in that moment, I think you’re misinterpreting his body language a bit and definitely testing his boundaries. He’s definitely unsure of you upon entry and trying to walk away within the small space then goes between the pen & the crate which is a more confined space and then you block him in by standing in front of him, his whole body got tense and then you pet him while he’s in that state which can teach him it’s ok for my body to be in this state when I receive affection. He doesn’t take his eyes off you and his mouth is closed, not relaxed and open while his body remains tense, I thought he could’ve bit you at any moment and wouldn’t blame him cause you were unknowingly putting some pressure on him when his body language is trying to communicate to you that he’s uncomfortable. I’m just trying to get you to see from his perspective to earn his trust a bit better/quicker. I have mad respect for them, was a vet tech on & off for 12 yrs and next to feral cats, Rottweilers were the most intimidating dog to me and you had to watch their body language very closely when you were going to do treatments on them because it seemed even more subtle compared to other breeds and they were ready to deliver a powerful bite if you weren’t careful or didn’t take necessary precautions. Maybe approach from behind or the side and stay in the front area of the pen which has more space, wait for him to approach would be how I’d try to earn his trust & show you respect his space. Pet him when his body is relaxed like how the second rotty is when you’re petting. Haven’t had the pleasure of owning but have pet sat (still do) some really sweet ones 🩷 I love the natural tail on yours 😍

All beautiful. I love to see natural tails. We're in upstate NY and purchased our guy from outside of Indianapolis because she was one of the few breeders back then that left tails natural. We just had to put him to sleep last Wednesday, less than a week after his 11th birthday. He lived a great life as one of the family and will be sorely missed. Im just surfing youtube looking at Rottie videos. It puts a big smile on my face. Good luck with your new guys. It won't be long before that nervousness wares off😊

he doesnt have a bad tempetament, if hes imported thats just normal. hell get use to you in a couple weeks/months + rotts are dogs with a tought temperament so its kinda normal if you are a stranger.
