Brahms's Second Symphony in D major, is probably one of his greatest orchestral masterpieces with the very same key of Beethoven's Second Symphony. Although its overall mood is so sunny and bucolic that many labelled it as 'Brahms's Pastoral', its lugubrious tone of melancholy is hidden under the sunshine surface.

What a privilege to be able to witness the transition of a prodigiously talented child into a sublime artist of transcendent skill and interpretation. Literally had tear running down my face. There's no doubt in my mind that she will take her place as one of the most exalted musicians of this time and possibly in the conversation for the best ever.

This piece requires phenomenal stamina. Notice there’s not a single beat of rest in the entire piece? She has to play non-stop for almost eleven minutes, without a flaw…amazing

Why is there a page turner when the organist is using an iPad? Edit: I see she’s changing the stops. That’s a shame. The organist should change stops

Jonathan, I attended your Beethoven Concerto concert in San Diego a few days after the election. I was so moved by your relationship to the music - so much more than a “performance. “ I would so love to hear you again in person, since even the best recording is still a step removed from the almost spiritual experience of being in the room as you play. New York, Los Angeles, San Diego - any concerts planned in those cities anytime soon? I so enjoy your work!
