Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 4 is such a wonderful piece, one of my favorites. Glad you didn't play the first movement blisteringly fast, I've heard some performances that just try to blitz through it, which although can sound impressive, isn't how it should be played in my opinion.

Come on with music. How long do u think folks will wait to hear a tuba recital?

Alex is fantastic, and frankly having an instrument rolled out that seems to never be in tune (or stay in tune) is a disservice to this music and to the talent he brings. Especially this excerpt, which is a huge feature for the piano. It detracts from Alex’s highly valued work in the wind ensemble, and it detracts from the rest of the wind ensemble. Please, stop using this piano. I am begging you. It is horrible, and it is never in tune.

There is a significantly better, and easily accessible, instrument backstage. This is so frustrating to hear, again and again, a piano that can’t stay in tune, especially when one that is suitable sits untouched, from what I remember as a student, and from what students say now. We never hear the correct piano (which, from what I have experienced, is significantly better). This is so frustrating.

This is the wrong piano. This is always the wrong piano. It’s not even in tune. I’m not sure if there’s some miscommunication; the correct instrument doesn’t fall out of tune. I am so confused about how this instrument keeps being used for the concerts.

I attended WSU 1964 to 1969 and played Tuba in the Wichita Symphony for 5 years. Fun times. Unfortunately, there was no tuba teacher at that time and the trombone teacher, Don Hummel, wasn't too good for teaching tuba.. Luckily, I followed my private teacher lessons, Ron Munson, who went to the Marine Band in D.C. and followed the lessons he taught. Many lessons were handed down from Arnold Jacobs, who Ron studied with in the past. Sounds good, but more air thru that tuba would make it even better.

It was fantastic, Bravo! I wish I had a chance to see this in person, but I couldn't since I had a class at the same time. However, I enjoyed a lot seeing this here. Thank you!
