Glad to see people are questioning everything before putting something they say is "safe and effective" into their bodies.

I have just been invited by the Danish health authorities (whom i trust) to test the new Rsv vaccine. I have not made up my mind yet. Think i will watch some videos about the topic first.

I think the main purpose is mom gets home made meals everyday, and help around the house and taking care of the baby. Many of us who have loving parents know that the help of our mothers is kinds the same after giving birth. I do believe that at least not walking aroud with wet hair drinking cold juice and stuff like that will help your body be comfortable also i think its nice to also try herbs and natural things before taking medication.

It's disheartening to see all the comments denouncing vaccines here. Vaccines are a technology and like any technology, will have some duds. Cars get recalled a lot more often than vaccines due to faulty brakes yet I don't see anyone saying "I avoid all cars from every manufacturer." My coworker's entire family caught a respiratory illness that sent one child to the ER. She felt the best out of anyone and she was the only one with the RSV vaccine. Thanks for the info, Dr. Yu!

When we lived in rural Kansas my husband had gone to our PCP for his leg. That PCP also worked in the ER & delivered babies😅. Anywho my husband had an obvious DVT so the PCP sent him to the ER. He knew my husband was stubborn so he followed him to the ER. By then we knew my husband also had 6 PEs. My husband didn't want to stay in the ER and was trying to make excuses to go home and that PCP told him that he's had patients flat out die right in front of him and couldn't save them from a Pulmonary Embolisms.. So he was to sit down and let them treat him. It's not a typically city experience to have your pcp do that kind of folkow to😂.

Two days means you were two weeks too late getting the vaccine. It takes about that long for it to be helpful.

My dad was injured in a hunting accident in rural Alberta in the mid 70's. At the time one doctor would serve several communities rotating from hospital to hospital. So when they showed up at the first hospital with my dad in the back seat of a car with GSW to his lower back the staff directed them to the next hospital where the doctor was on rotation.

Best doctor's visit of my life was when I had to go in for an urgently needed prescription refill, and basically as soon as my doctor entered the room I was like "Look, I run out of meds in two days, I couldn't reschedule this, BUT I broke a molar yesterday and my dentist performed an arcane ritual to claw out a tiny gap in her schedule to see me today. That's in half an hour and she's in the next town over, so we've got maybe five minutes before I need to run." My doctor had the look of a man who'd spent his entire career preparing for that exact moment, he was SO ready to be become a medical speedrunner. Appointments normally take like 15-20 minutes; we tore through the usual questions at the speed of light, one word answers only, no details necessary, and he even squeezed in an abbreviated "oh crap you're 25 you need a physical" conversation. Three minutes later I was out the door with a prescription refill order in hand and an appointment for a pap test in a few months. Made it to my dentist with time to spare. Family doctors are awesome.
