I put the same unit on my 1964. It also leaked at the hard lines, The biggest drawback is the loss of steering angle, U-Turns and parking are much harder now, the turning radius is enormous. I like the feel while driving, it feels like a modern car, but after two years it's now leaking at the seal where the steering rod attaches. Very disappointing. I hope I can just get a new rack and not the whole kit.

Thank you for the nice comments about my build. I had a new driveshaft built for the truck from measurements requested by the driveshaft shop. I’m not sure how close the original driveshaft was because it was long gone before I started rebuilding the truck.

What u joint did you use going to the stem in the rack. I got a no limit and that u joint they sent won’t fit
@OIF2VET7 ай бұрын
So the column was sent with a DD 3/4 shaft that fit inside the end of the column. I added a u joint that was DD 3/4 on one side and DD 1” on the other. The rest of the fittings should be DD 3/4.

Is the steering column stock or after market
@savageblades36011 ай бұрын
Hey Dave I just posted an update too, it's on my channel SavageBlades360. It's kinda similar so you might like it... Was the neutral safety switch easy to install? What size is the looped off hose on the water pump heater ports? What does the smaller diameter hose on the top passenger side of the radiator connect to? Is mounting my megafuse in the framerail (beneath the ac compressor area) going to be an okay location despite not being near the relocated battery because it close to the distribution blocks? Can you help me figure out how to wire my hdx gauges to AAW harness?

Thanks for the video. I'm doing an L83 swap with Boyds tank, 340 pump, 90 sending unit, Dakota hdx, and C5 regulator. Boyd's instructions say to use Aeromotive #16301 kit; also Travis from Simplec10 (KZbin) said to use the cheaper Painless universal fuel wiring kit. Both have a relay and circuit breaker so it was surprising to see this wired directly. Why did you wire yours without? Also what filter is that?
@OIF2VET Жыл бұрын
The relay is wired into the harness. The guy that did my harness is really good at keeping things simple. There is a standalone fuse/relay box that he installs. The harness is the only thing on the truck I had zero involvement. Grave Road Custom Tuning on Facebook is the guy’s site. He is fairly well know around Arkansas in the LS swap community. My filter came with the hot rod fuel hose kit. It is listed as a factory style fuel filter. $40 on their site.
