Hello, I am starting a course in I/O Psychology with the IU in Germany, will the content in these videos be useful to me? I have been listening to them like podcasts at work, pre course begin. I find them super interesting and very well explained regardless!

Thank you for the validation! "I/O psychologists write and develop the tools that HR uses, and then evaluates their effectiveness" etc. That's great to hear because i find that until i have that title in my hand and actually work doing just that, people seem to not take me seriously. They dont realize that this field researches what the supervisors think they know, and what they learn comes from scientists such as ourselves. So the next time i try to explain to my manager why he cant reinforce bad behavior while shifting the workload to hard workers, they ought to show more respect! Thanks for the video..cant wait to get into statistics. I really want to get into scientific research.

I'd like to suggest using short quizzes/questions throughout your video. You explain things very nicely but after a bit I found myself struggling to remember what was just talked about while processing new information.

I'm taking a degree in Organizational Psychology (Mexico), and we rely heavily on Peer-reviewed Articles by graduates that have done research into many different topics: we get trained on history of psychology, psychopathology, educational psychology, clinical, Epistemology, Information Management (for writing thesis and articles using APA, using tools like Mendeley Citation Manager), organizational sociology, Basics of intervention, Project Management, Seminars for investigation, Seminars for Thesis writing, etc etc. The list is pretty extensive on items to cover to prepare you for your work as an organizational psychologist, and we have at least 3-5 articles per class that range from 12-100+ pages, and they give us books like Scientific Method, DSM manuals, Project Managing, etc. If I can recommend the following, we do not use anything that is not published by an academic platform with strict guidelines and policies. A few good sources are EbscoHost, Redalyc, Elsevere, and SciELO. Those are scientific databases where we read tons of articles every week (the Mexican university education requires heavy reading and writing with weekly essay submissions to demonstrate your comprehension and hone your research and writing abilities so you can engage in research and produce literature to guide new generation psychologists). So, feel free to explore those platforms and filter for psychology and sub filter for organizational if it's available. In Mexico, the universities want the professionals to be "auto-didactic" which means "self teaching" or "self motivated". That means that the more you learn how to find articles, filter for qualified content, and be able to interpret the readings and (here's the key) USE the knowledge to inform your understanding, the better you will become as an agent of change to communities and people. Sorry for that very lengthy explanation, but, we should take our teaching opportunities very seriously as to guide people to do the same.
