Excellent. Did you reference the temp sensor that connects to the grill? I am about to do this on my 2002 TT. I've done it on a standard 996 a few years ago.

As a matter of interest do you still have your old shock absorber units with the lower spring holders attached and if so do you wish to sell them?

One final question. After you remove the six bolts on the drive shaft and the shaft pulls out, is it easy to put it back in again into the correct position when screwing the six bolts back in. Is there some gear than needs to be aligned?

I have another question. When you replace the spring on the shock how do you know exactly where it goes. Also when you slide the new shock into the holder how do you know when it rotates exactly where is the correct position. See 16.30 in the video. It slides in but if it can rotate which is the correct position?
@NorwegianCarGuy4 күн бұрын
The aluminium cradle that holds the spring has a stopper, so it will only fit one way perfectly. It is the same way with the shock into the holder. The shock has a "fin" on the back and the holder has a slot that it fits in. Good luck!

That one should be tightened when the car is on it's wheels, so it was tightened to spec at the garage the did the 4 wheel alignment. The spec is: Control Arm to Subframe: 120nm, 89 lb-ft .Top tip. Google 996 turbo repair manual and you can download that and find all the correct settings there.

Great video! Could you please help me understand how you know if a rear facing car seat will fit in a 911? I have 996 C4 cabrio and looking for one... but scared to buy online in case they don't fit. Any recommendations really welcome!! Thanks!
@NorwegianCarGuy7 күн бұрын
@shivaspacetech My recommendation is to go to a store, or buy used. You can find recommend seats in the film and I believe most Britax will fit. The main problem is the width in the base for most seats, but also the angle for the back, so it needs to be a pretty simple construction. I bought used, and tested the seat in the car before buying 👍
