I have an LF Bros N2-T, which has altitude adjustment and thermostat control like the Pro model, but not the silent fuel pump. I live at 5700', and it burns very cleanly after the first couple minutes of operation. However, for the first minute or two after the fuel pump kicks in at startup, a diesel smell eminates from the hot air output from the heater. All exhaust connections are tight, and the unit has been vented outside with the heater itself inside. LF Bros tech support tells me this condition is "normal", but I don't like diesel fumes in my living space. Do you have the same issue with either of your LF Bros heaters? Thanks.

I never smelled anything on either one of my units, but now I will look out for it

It's so cool to see people coming out to adventure in our area. I love Grand Forks. I moved out here from Edmonton 5 years ago and I don't regret it. There's many things to do and see here. Some highlights are: The local museum perched high on the valley which lends information about the unique history of the area including the Doukhabor people (a ethnoreligious group from Russia that moved here) The Yankee Boy Mine - Right outside of town up Hardy Mountain Rd. A KZbinr (Exploring Abandoned Mines) named Frank and his wife bought an abandoned gold mine (last mined in 1937) and live right above it. They've beautifully restored the mine and offer exceptional tours during the summer. Fisherman Creek Falls - A stunning waterfall for such a small creek. There's a trail you can drive up located in Niagra just north of the "Pines Bible Camp" on North Fork Rd. You can drive up to the Trans Canada Trail and park there. From there, you'll see a sign and a small walking path you can hike a short distance to get to the waterfall. On that note: The Trans Canada Trail - A very long section of the old Trans Canada rail network was decommissioned and turned into a hiking, horseback, ATV trail. The trail spans uninterupted from Castlegar to Rock Creek, and does continue in patches across the width of BC if I recall correctly. Some gorgeous views of the North Fork valley are on that trail. I've driven my truck on it from Castlegar to Christina Lake and from Grand Forks to Midway. I highly recommend. Cascade Trestle and Falls - Right close to Grand Forks beside highway 3 but closer to Christina Lake is a breathtaking point on the Kettle River. There's a very high trestle bridge you can walk on with a great view. During the summer, you'll see daredevils jumping from the rocks or off the bridge itself into the river below. If you continue past the bridge on the trail (Trans Canada Trail) heading towards Christina Lake, you will find a small trail to the left that will get you down to the falls which is a large roaring rappid. You can get right down next to it if you want, but of course be very careful! It's extremely dangerous, so use proper discretion. There's plenty more, like free maintained camping spots north of town, the Greenwood smelter stack, the Pheonix cemetery (what's left of the city of Pheonix which used to be larger than Grand Forks), the Rock Candy Mine and more.

Seems like this was a mildly simple trail, with the correct tires and some ground clearance being the most essential for dealing with those flooded areas, but this is clearly spring run-off. Good to see some footage of the trails I am hoping to take on in my Maverick, it ain't much compared to your rigs, but going to be starting with Kearney and Haliburton Highlands and see where I get after a year in this area before heading further North where y'all are here. Aside from dealing with snow in AT tires this doesn't look like anything I couldn't have done, if going back out the same way you went in, not sure I could get that culvert replacement, I would just be left in the river til they came back lol

I could stand on that rock at 4:46 and catch fish all day and all night John.... Video's of Canadian Shield Rock, lol, who'd a thunk. Geez I guess it does look pretty but I'm so used to it I guess I take it for granted. Boy that's a lot of species of fish there that your buddy mentioned Cap. I'd target the Walleye and the Bass. I got to tell you John the best experience up north is a shore lunch with fresh fish you caught. Taters and baked beans is all you need. When Samuel D. Champlain came to Ontario in the early 1600s he wrote in his journal which I have read that the tastiest fish he ever ate was the Walleye. He spent a whole paragraph on it as a matter of fact. Fresh fish taste different than store bought fish. Champlain dined with the royalty of Europe before he became an explorer and said that nothing on those tables could compare to the taste of this New World delicacy... Your missing the boat kid not taking advantage of it... I'll even lend you the fishing gear. Shit, never mind, I got lots I'll give you some. Or would you prefer dynamite caps?..... LOL
