have you noticed a MPG increase without the front axle rolling resistance?
@oldxj
@oldxj 3 ай бұрын
I really don’t know. I’m sure it is better, but I hadn’t really driven it much before this. I did the upgrade while in the middle is several other things to get it roadworthy.

@oldxj ive heard about 1mpg maybe, which at the end of the year assuming 17mpg and 10,000 miles, is about 37 extra gallons. Not really worth it for that but Id have to test it.

Great job on the install! Very clean. Bought a '99 XJ with 148k in 2022, original owner replaced heater core (allegedly), 2nd owner - who sold the Jeep to me - did several thousands of dollars in shop work, plus thousands of his own wrenching. (2nd owner even swapped in WJ "leather" power seats with lumbar... It's a great mod, I highly recommend it!) For the past two winters (Connecticut) I've suffered with poor heat, I'm going to be backflushing the core soon and was looking into ways to prevent future clogs. Thanks to your video, I now see a fantastic way to do this... Thank you for sharing, and also for taking the time to post part numbers and descriptions. You've made this job so much easier!

I had to change it all. Even the heater core. No cooling issues now even with the AC on. The only problem I have now is a spun bearing😆. We are working on a rebuild as funds and time allows

They seem to be doing fine. I only have 235 tires on there and it’s only seen street duty. The steering is more free than before. I have been daily driving it for a while since my Honda went down so I haven’t been adventurous with it.

The battery tray from a newer model will bolt in. It will accept a group 34 size battery. Other than that, you would have to get creative and mount one in another part of the jeep.

Have an 04 Rubicon and just had the Yukon kit installed. Ended up being 5 hours of labor being charged. Drives awesome! Really feels lighter up front, will test mpg down the road. My Rubicon has 33” MTR’s, 4.56 gears, 5 speed manual.

Are you running a front locker? I've been running a spartan auto locker up front for 7 years and always want the Yukon free spin kit so the front end would truely be disconnected from the drivetrain.

Search Greg Smith door lock mod, i think it fixes windows too. I did what you're doing years ago. It works for a while. Clean and sand the window motor wiring as well as every connection under both kick panels and inside all the doors. Also clean the windows and weather stripping along all the windows with silicone.
