The hike up monkey mountain is only good for taking photos from high overlooking the sea. The temple and various buildings at the top are in a very bad state of disrepair and have been neglected for years now. Was there in Feb 2024. And yes, the monkeys will grab anyhing from you. I stopped to take a photo, and monkeys grabbed my water bottle and almost got my packsack.
