The parent company for AB (InBev) is a globally owned, totally woke, corporation out of Belgium. AB is the non-American owned parent Corporation selling Bud Light that has chosen to abandoned its decades old millions and millions loyal customers in favor of going woke. AB only contributed slightly more to the right than left political causes - essentially playing both sides.

I have to disagree with you. This has gone beyond a flash in the pan. Musicians are changing the lyrics of songs to remove mentions of Anheuser-Busch products. Bars who sided with AB are being boycotted in turn. People are utilizing AI software to create alternate versions of classic AB adverts that ridicule and mock the decision to take a position in the culture war. There is also the issue of the demographic that Mr. Mulvaney draws are largely below the drinking age in the United States; A fact not lost on millions of parents. But the point that makes me sure this has legs? Men are saying that they feel that drinking the product in public is tantamount to being effeminate. There is considerable peer pressure in social drinking environments, and that pressure is growing. If men feel that drinking a beer will make their peers in both genders to see them as less 'manly', they are going to pass. And they are passing. What is more, there is considerable pressure from the radical Transgender crowd to double down on their messaging. AB is effectively being blackmailed by having these activists apply pressure to institutional investors to squeeze them. CEI scores are a thing, unfortunately. My opinion is that AB could have rid themselves of the controversy by simply apologizing 3 weeks ago. They haven't. The employees in Marketing who created the controversy have Not been fired. They have been suspended with pay. The decision to not apologize is being viewed as defiance against their core demographic - in effect that their customer base is too stupid to understand what is going on. That message is getting through to people. There are media and influential voices that will not accept anything short of bankruptcy. To be fair, the voices advocating for this position are few; but they are loud, and more are echoing the position. AB sales are down 50% in the last three weeks year over year. I suspect that number will increase as word of mouth and further pressure builds against the company. To close out, The boycott has legs. AB have fundamentally destroyed their brand identification and alienated their core customers. AB really needs to have a 'Come to Jesus' moment to salvage the situation. They can't, because the demographic they pandered to with the collaboration use Corporate Equity scores and Institutional leaders to force corporations to embrace these campaigns. Anheuser-Busch is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their best move would be to fire the marketing team and renounce the campaign. As loud as the Transgender and Radical Left movement is, they are a much smaller demo than is believed.
