I’m a bit surprised that Rosemary added Nelson Riddle’s name to this version. It wasn’t revealed till decades later that they were already a secret item - before her divorce from her philandering husband, actor Jose’ Ferrer.

Lovely as always Rogier. The arrangement for “After You’re Gone” is very similar to her television show arrangement. Hadn’t heard of her singing “My runaway heart” till now , very very nice ;))

Wonderful guys, great singing..... always chuckle to remember the Hertz commercial.... And as for Rosie...she broadened and deepened her sound as she got older. Never lost that voice - ever.

On the Columbia record of this song, they sing "And Goddard Lieberson's looks give me a thrill." There's a reason for that. When the Hi-Lo's signed with Columbia, A&R man Mitch Miller tried to give them the same dreadful, corny songs he gave Frank Sinatra. Lieberson, president of Columbia, told Miller to back off and let the guys pick their own songs. The guys were grateful, especially leader Gene Puerling.

The original version is too slow to dance to, but this version is perfect for International Cha Cha Cha, 120 bpm. The only thing is the distortion of the sound... but I won't complain.

heard this as a little kid and imagined it was sung by some european accented woman like Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida, coz i knew Italian women who sounded like this... later in life i was shocked to find out it's sung by a blonde American woman... it's a catchy song that i love to hear again and again... watching Rosemary in this vid is even better.

All of the videotapes of Perry's Kraft Music Hall wrre erased. Only one black and white videotape remains (by thecrequest of Kraft); the one with Lena Horne, in which Perry and Lena sing a tribite to Nat. If the person who owns this kinnie had properly transferred it, it would look great. I have the same copy, terrible audio and visual.
