Stumbled across this video while looking for something else. How do you feel about the changes to denjin in season 2? I feel as though they address all of the issues with its former self perfectly while keeping it digestible. It would be nice to be able to choose whether you wanted denjin or non-denjin versions of heavies and EXs but since the denjin versions are strictly better I'm okay with how it is now, especially with the addition of denjin cancels to his target combos
@dreadzero
@dreadzero Ай бұрын
I agree. I think the changes are welcomed. I think overall it’s made Ryu more stable. Whether it has made him more competitive or not I’m not sure. Semy recently won a major with ryu so that’s gotta mean something. I think if they just tweak a few more things Ryu will be pretty good!

I wonder if the intention behind this move wasn't actually to be like drinks/wind stocks/fuha where you're meant to have them all the time, but rather to give Ryu a plan B when fighting characters with strong anti-projectile tools. Denjin's limitations seem to make more sense for match-ups where you can't throw many fireballs to begin with. The move is still underwhelming and needs adjustment, but maybe it was never designed to supplement his zoning game and we're looking at it the wrong way?
@dreadzero
@dreadzero 8 ай бұрын
I definitely see what you mean. It’s difficult because capcom definitely wants ryu to be more zoning and the denjin is really important that. Tbr when the patch hits we will just have to see if they intended for denjin to be like this

Give him up to three stocks and better setups for Denjin Charge. This can allow people to fire off Denjin stocks in fireball wars and still have stocks for damage Or if they aren't okay with increasing the stocks, change the inputs to give players flexibility on what moves to use with the Denjin charge. I agree with a comment that says HCF and HCB inputs can be used for denjin charged moves
@dreadzero

I definitely think allowing ryu to have multiple stocks would allow him to have more flexibility within his current build. I like this idea more than my current one tbh
@shajita

I agree with the issues, though I disagree on the fixes. It's pretty universal that 2 buttons = EX or equivalent in Street Fighter, and changing it to three during certain conditions breaks that consistency. A different input should probably be considered. My 5-second solution is to make you hold the button to spend the Denjin, and just tab it for the regular versions. I agree with giving Ryu some more setups for Denjin Charge, but I would also like to see him having an OD Denjin Charge. Let him spend 2 bars of Drive to drastically reduce the recovery, so you can get a bit wacky with it for frame traps and fireball wars.
@dreadzero
@dreadzero 9 ай бұрын
I actually did not consider holding it down for denjin. I appreciate you giving a helpful suggestion to improve the video drastically! Also if Ryu could just spend two bars to get faster recovery on denjin that would help a lot. He might even be able to get a dash jab if the recovery is fast enough. Good stuff!
@uknowdmal807
@uknowdmal807 9 ай бұрын
I think his denjin charge should be on the input you use. For example denjin charge with M punch will only grant you medium denjin fireball but you can shoot L Fb and H Fb. I think ryu three hit target combo should cancel into denjin.

I'd rather make it so that with Denjin charged, you can use half circle motions to get the regular versions. It'd be more execution-heavy but most players wouldn't choose to not use the Denjin versions and still the hardcores could use it in specific situations. Plus for better Denjin setups I think making it cancellable from some of his specials or maybe even some uncancellable normals or target combos would be good. Also give him a feint version that's faster but doesn't charge him

When I saw the title I thought someone found my Pot Buster tech. Turns out it's just a general idea of how command grabs work on this game. This is very good for Pot Players starting out and it can even help people with their own characters to an extent. If you want to get even more Pot Busters you can lab out Pot's Corner Pressure. He has a lot of stuff I don't see other Pot Players doing, even Top Ranked Potemkin's for that matter. The tech I'm using has safe jumps and a very loopable mix. Pot just kills them in 2 or 3 mixes. Pot actually has a lot of options to beat Behemoth Typhoon pressure. It’s just that most of them don’t know how to fight it. Pot has a good backdash, 5P, Slidehead, and Hammerfall to deal with that nonsense. Plus Pot has better buttons for neutral. Goldlewis doesn’t have many options when facing Garuda pressure, especially in the corner. It’s basically whoever sends the other in the corner first wins and Goldlewis has first serve on round start, so Pot players should learn how to fight it. Once Pot is in neutral it’s more likely that the good Pot player will win.

Dont' worry, people will be playing the new charactes in beta 3. On the other hand, people is ALREADY playing together thanks to Parsec. So they are figuring the matchups already. Of course, this is only a bit of a head start for some people. Good players will rise nonetheless with or without beta. So this is only for scrubs wanting to roast newbies, and pros worried for the first tournaments that Capcom will feature with SF6. ¿For the rest of us? Just a little bit of salt if you happen to find a vitamined fighter in Bronze. But also, if they really take the 10 fight test that lets the game estimate your level, there are close to 0 chances to run into this people. Fun thing with this game is that you can wipe the floor with Modern Controls as Justin Wong did, so many people will find themselves doing better than expected and enjoying the game.

2 fun additions/elaborations from a fellow Potemkin enjoyer: the opponent cannot mash on Garuda -> Pot Buster. The Guard Break state gives no Grab invulnerability on recovery, meaning that if you properly time the grab it even beats moves like Chipp 5P and Sol 5K. The opponent can only jump, super, or backdash. Also, a counter hit 2S will ALWAYS combo into Hammerfall Brake -> Potemkin Buster from EVERY range that is currently relevant. For example, counter-poking Bridget 5H from the furthest possible range (about 3 backdashes away) still combos.

Storywise, 'Mortal Kombat 11' felt like the writers were running out of ideas; due to 'MK11' rushing its plot developments and not fully fleshing out its newcomers, with Kronika in particular being cited as one of the worst antagonists in the franchise due to not having clear motives, relying too much on Offstage Villainy, and having little personality aside from being a sociopathic perfectionist. Although the story ended on a cliffhanger, I'm not sure what direction the franchise could go, especially if the writers are still suffering from burnout.
