That was one hell of a show, the band really gave it their all even in front of a very small audience (btw nice solo by Dave @ 28:26). No wonder they later became such legends!

And I just thought of this before his days in Primus, Larry Lalonde was the guitarist for possessed he was in one of the first black metal bands in the US .i believe he was on seven churches. But the San Francisco metal scene was on fire back then with Slayer Testament Exodus Death Angel Metallica Megadeth and so on.

I remember the ultimate revenge tour you could get it on VHS it was Slayer Venom and exodus it's an incredible show. There is actually another one out there that's a rare gem of Slayer during Raining Blood tour very early on at the stone Cafe in California I've seen some of it on KZbin. But this right here from 83 is ridiculous cuz I've never heard anything from the demo Satan's Children

Tormentor and cryonics those are incredible songs. Somebody songs on here or from their original demo Satan's Children like Ice Titan Knight Rider simple aggression Blitzkrieg and assassin I don't recall those songs being on show no mercy or haunting the chapel better yet hell awaits. They sound a lot like songs and Iron Maiden would do and if you notice Dave Lombardo I believe only has one bass drum in this and it's definitely a Roger's kit that he used back then. Silver drum set with concert Toms and the inside of the drums were black. I used to have that video and it was a tour that went on I was Slayer Exodus and a few other bands were on it from San Francisco Bay Area

I've already commented here, so I'm obviously reliving my glory days. I saw Metallica here in March of 1982. I believe it was only a couple of weeks after their first gig ever. And I saw Metallica and Slayer play here on the same bill in October 1982. I was 14, (on certain nights) this was a no age limit, no alcohol club.

From time to time I watch this one. Several things are worth noting. But today, I would like to point the beat of the songs. Some of these songs sound so powerful not as fast as the band played them 20, 30,years after Live Undead. And, of course, Araya singing is absolutely the best representation we have to date of Satan singing in a metal band.

It’s crazy how there are maybe 20 people watching them and my dad is one of them. He was friends with Jeff at Jordan high school, and his name is on the back of the Show no Mercy disc.

Found this on Wikipedia... In 1983, Slayer was invited to open for the band Bitch at the Woodstock Club in Anaheim, California, to perform eight songs, six of which were covers. The band was spotted by Brian Slagel, a former music journalist who had recently founded Metal Blade Records. Impressed with Slayer, he met with the band backstage and asked them to record an original song for his upcoming Metal Massacre III compilation album. The band agreed and their song "Aggressive Perfector" created an underground buzz upon its release in mid 1983, which led to Slagel offering the band a recording contract with Metal Blade.

Metallica did their earliest shows at the Woodstock as well as lots of others. It should've been registered and saved by the orange county historical society.
