Thanks for posting this! Seriously I have a new out of the box 18hp that cost 1,330 dollars. Tried muffs and a low 20 gallon storage tub filled and only immersed to just over the lower plate. I'll get a large deeper trash container size to hope it gets it going.

Do you know how much this engine weighs? I don't trust the spec sheets online. I have a 14 foot porta bote with a 52 pound 6 hp Suzuki 4 stroke. Weight limit for the motor is about 60lbs. Do you think this engine is putting out more like 10 hp since it is the same cc as a 9.9 Tohatsu 2 stroke? The Tohatsu is supposed to weight 57 lbs. With my family in the boat the 6 is pushing us around 10 to 11mph. Really not bad for 6 hp. I has hoping to get the closer to 15mph.

At the end of the day AD being a franchise it's a 50/50 chance of having a really good dentist or a really bad one.

These smokers are garbage. Especially the 3016DEW model. The digital controller is garbage and the readout quit working in about 4 years with very little use.

Thanks for posting that. I've been a dentist for 37 years. I love making beautiful, bespoke, customized, well-fitting dentures. It's an art. Most of the patients I make them for bring in a "discount denture", or two, or three... Patients who've never had a properly made denture think it's gonna be done in one or two visits, because that's what they got before. But when they finally get a denture that looks great, functions well, and is comfortable, they don't mind the 4 or 5 visit process. And they send their friends to me. I'm basically booked out until I retire. Pretty good gig for an old Deadhead hippie. I love doing dentistry! We play great music too. Otherwise, I'd stay home with my Czech German Shepherd, Bodhi the Superdog. He is probably the finest dog that's ever existed in the history of Dogdom on Earth. Sometimes I bring him to the office with me. But he usually wants to stay home, watch TV, and nap while I "Go To Work". He's such a good boy!

Just picked up the 12 hp for $889 on amazon shipping and yax included. These are Tohatsu M 9.8B clones so most parts should be interchangeable from what I understand. I did hear another owner say the rubber parts dont hold up well over time they start leaving residue when touched

How does that thing push that boat?

It doesn't matter what the name of the place you go is - is they don't care/know what they are doing, the dentures will suck! I just wasted 3,000.00 at a "professional dentist" for dentures that I can't keep in my mouth more than 10 minutes, I can't swallow, or open my mouth they are like horse teeth in my mouth. Affordable. Aspen, Dentist, it doesn't matter the name, they have to know what they are doing! I would trust AD since it is ALL THEY DO by the thousands, than a dentist that does a set one every few months or a couple sets a year!

Thanks Tim I am in Australia where everything is..........expensive. My sister (80 yo) just had a new upper plate made for $5,600 , and she is not happy with them. I keep telling her to go back until she feels comfortable. Only last week I had a new top plate fitted with 5 teeth on it (I was a bouncer for 7 years back in the day). It felt and looked good when fitted but next day I was very sore. I went straight back next day (3 hr drive) and he messed around some until I thought it was right. Anyway, long story short, I ended up sitting in my shed with my little dremel and fixed it myself. It really was very easy and I now don't even know I am wearing it. I eat apples with Gusto. Did you get a title so you can tag it?

My daughter was 20 years old when she went to Affordable Dentures amd and had all her teeth pulled due to lack of enamel. The immediate dentures fit good & she wore them for 13 years without having them relined. So, she had an excellent experience. I am 78 in& just had my upper teeth extracted on 5/9/24 and my dentist had my immediate denture made at a lab he uses. They fit terrible, almost like they belong to someone else. The front teeth protrude too far, the gums on the side show toouch as in your photo on the one from Affordable Dentures. Plus, I can't get the denture centered. .They are loose, and causing my gums to be sore on one side, plus my ear & jaw on right hurts at times. I think they are too far off to be able to adjust. I really do believe the problem was in the tray sixe they used cause they couldn't find one to fit my mouth & used a child's.

One thing to point out is you went with the Economy version from Affordable. These are basically their temporaries which are meant to be used while you heal. With Affordable I went with the Premium level. So I wore the temporaries for 8 - 9 months. When fully healed and gums stopped shrinking I was then fitted with a final set. For the final set they spent lots of time measuring, fitting and customizing. They are very thin and fit perfectly. Very happy with them - they look like natural teeth. I had full dentures upper and lower at about $2,300.00. (Insurance paid $900 of this). This included temporaries, finals, relines and adjustments as needed for 18 months. My 22 extractions were extra but for me that went extremely well and I had no pain - just tenderness - I was lucky. Now my dental tech at Affordable has 25 years experience and she is great - so this might have to do with my success in the fitting and process in general. I am extremely happy with dealing with Affordable and people really have no idea I have dentures unless I tell them. Oh and I can eat anything - there is a learning curve.

It's not really a matter of chain location vs private dentist. It's a matter of what materials they choose to use and how skilled the denturist is. Some chains use better materials than private dentists.

My first pair of dentures was from AF about 14 years ago I got the economy they where excellent, I just got a new set from AF a little over month ago,no problem, I would like fot them to be brighter, but really no problem.the new ones are the next grade.
