I bought the hard one on Amazon….I completely broke away that plastic white base and the plastic piece snapped right in perfectly…..2007 F150……..even if the clips break in place just push them through and snap in the new plastic piece.

So, they apparently changed the locations of the stupid clips every single year, and you can waste a whole day trying to find and keep the clips, but frankly, my time is better served simply ordering a replacement padded cover. I'm not real happy about carving up the piece I need to hold the pad down, as well as parts of the rest of the flip seat.

Mine has been lifting up for a few years. I remember seeing a replacement on eBay a few years ago but it was pricey so I waited. Now an ABS plastic replacement is available on Amazon or eBay that can be had for less than $20. Different colors available. For that price it's worth a try, but it's not a soft vinyl feel. Once I have it I may try to repair the original.

Man great video ! I’d have to say the stapler idea was amazing! Tried the hand one didn’t have enough to get through that plastic. So went to Lowe’s and got an air one with t50 staples worked like a charm. Great vid helped a lot ! Had to pause it a few time cause you wouldn’t sit still haha ! Thanks man !

I am trying desparately to find a video showing how to disassemble the entire cupholder and interior of the console? Did you just use a pry tool to pop off the cushiony cupholder surround?
@padredon7
@padredon7 5 жыл бұрын
You need to peel back the edges of the padding and remove it. After removing the padding, follow the instructions in the video to remove the backing structure that attaches to the console. I have no advise on how to disassemble the rest of the console.

Great video I have a late 2004 F250 with this same problem but when I got the pad off I discovered the clip pattern to be different than yours so I went to the video of the 2001 F250 and that's what I had. So there is at least two different clip patterns so everyone needs to determine which one they have. I warmed every thing up and tacked the pad to the plate with supper glue then warmed the plate up good and stapled the edges figuring that warming the plastic would keep it from breaking when stapled. It came out great and now looks like new. Thankyou for your video.
