Infidelity is very hard to forgive because both people have to put in effort and work. It will also require healing and therapy which a lot of people hate to do so you end up navigating without guidance. The cheater also needs to accept that their SO will be triggered and that is a normal reaction to having been cheated on, it creates trauma whether you are male or female. The cheater also has to take accountability for their choice, cheating doesn’t happen accidentally it as a it is a conscience decision so accountability has to be taken to move past the infidelity. The cheater must also address what trauma led them to making that decision. That is the reason why most people cannot move past it, the cheater has to actually put in effort and it will probably be more because they have to make amends. Des is right cheating is an unhealed response, which is why healing is so important.

I love that you guys talk about these parental challenges. My husband always mentions how it bothers him not being able to do more with our kids. I feel he feels a lot of the dad guilt you guys are discussing. But even me being a stay at home mom, I still constantly wonder if I’m parenting right and disciplining in a way my son is actually learning from. Is time out working as discipline and taking away privileges? However, I have always heard that if your questioning whether or not your doing enough for your kids, then your doing a pretty good job. So I think we are all doing something right

Major arguments shouldn't be done in front of the kids, indeed ... BUT ... kids need to learn from their parents how to healthily argue and how to resolve conflict the right way. We as parents shouldn't want our kids learning how to argue from their peers, their peers parents or from movies and social media. Parents, don't let our kids leave the house and how know how to cope in the real world. If they never see from us how to resolve conflict what will they do when they are faced with conflict away from mommy and daddy. Don't just let them see the rosey part of the relationship.

As a parent (of two later-teenage girls and one 8yr old boy) the subject of raising kids caught my attention. Raising kids is THEE HARDEST job in the world! Trying to find that balance of showing affection and being stern can often be a struggle. Kudos to you guys for bringing up the subject. This is a much needed subject that (especially) us as BLACK MEN need to be open to talking about and be willing to learn from. #IronSharpensIron
@sharif7602 жыл бұрын
I typed that before the subject was over. Big Ups to Stutta for allowing his self to be vulnerable on the podcast. Learning from your past and doing what you can to make sure your kids don't experience the negatives that you experienced is the sign of a GREAT parent. I don't know you but from what came out of your mouth and from what the other guys had to say ... You doing your thizzle. Stay vigilant, proactive and do things with purpose and hold your head up cause men, black men, parents like you are the real MVPs!
